Newborn & Baby - March 2007

My son is on Similac Advance, and formula is really expensive for me. I tried to breastfeed, but was unable to due to a previous breast reduction. Anyway, my question is, are store brand formulas comparable to brand name? My pediatrician told me it was ok to try a store brand and just keep an eye on him. So does anyone know of a store brand that is similar to Similac Advance?

how much tylenol (concentrated infant drops) do I give to a 6 month old, the bottle says to ask a doctor.
How about Motrin, I have children's Motrin, is that ok? I don't even know if they make an infant Motrin.

...and she hasn't pooped since yesterday at 11:30 am. I'm getting worried... we took her to the pediatrician yesterday, and he said try dark karo syrup... we tried and still no poop... any other suggestions? She's only 6 lbs 8 oz, and I can tell she doesn't feel good b/c she's getting fussy... what did you try to help this?

My friend's baby is 5 months old and has smelly, and REALLY loud gas. sometimes she even wakes herself up with her own gas. Her mom breastfeeds. Her mom eats high fiber cereal, limited her bean consumption and eats nuts. Is this ok?

My 5 month old is on enfamil w/ lipil but I ran out and I got home from work too late to pick some up. The corner store only has similac would it be wise to give her this until 2morrow a.m or do you guys have any other suggestions?

I have 8 month old baby( this is my second one) and still not start weaning. It's because I read some doctor saying baby's intestine has got different structure than grown up's and baby should not take protein till their intestines are ready for it, some protein cause allergy, asthma etc... So I 'm just giving her my breast at the moment. Some people told me baby need more nutlience after six month or baby will get too hungry. But my baby is absolutely fine and I do not mind to feed her often including in the night. I am sure some people will tell me off,but I want to have sopport to carry on this( ideally another few month). Does anybody have positive comment for me?

My baby is 3.5 months old and it looks like my period is returning (spotting today). She nurses every 2-3 hours round the clock and is not getting any water or formula. She is 86%ile for weight, so I am pretty sure she is getting enough milk. Thoughts from experienced moms?? thanks!

I have written this week before saying how i found a lump in my breast and saying my docter says it nothing to worry about she told me it is a pea size lump just a quick one cos i am worried so much i have not slept for days now i have to wait for a mammagram in 13 weeks i know all have said it would be fine just one question this lump i have one min it is there the next min it is now people have said if it moves its nothing to worry about is this true like i say one min i can feel it the next i cannot please help am i worrying to much hugs lindsey

my daughter is 11 months old and today i went to the doctor.because she's not sitting yet and she also can't bear any weight on her legs.he's sending her to a neroligest for testing i feel so nervous i have been crying the whole day because i hope she is okay she is so beautiful.has anyone gone through this before?
