My 5 month old is on enfamil w/ lipil but I ran out and I got home from work too late to pick some up. The corner store only has similac would it be wise to give her this until 2morrow a.m or do you guys have any other suggestions?

Similac and Enfamil lipil are both approved for use in full term infants and are both milk-based formulas. They are essentially interchangeable. Similac shouldn't cause GI distress in a 5-month old who has been taking enfamil lipil without a problem. Enfamil Lipil is NOT used for preterm infants, and does not provide extra calories or fat for low birth weight babies. LIPIL is a blend of DHA and ARA nutrients which are also in breast milk. They help promote brain and eye development.

Enfamil with lipil is a different from Similac. Enfamil with lipil is indicated for low birth weight baby or a growee premature that needs additional calories and fats.Next time, always have an extra can of milk available to use anytime and in case of an emergency.

I wouldn't suggest switching even for one night. You baby is already used to enfamil and make get sick from the similac. It could cause vomiting, upset stomach, bad gas, a lot of things. Isn't there a store anywhere where you could go get some enfamil?

Yes, I switched formulas more than once and no effects on kids.

Just pay attention to your child, if it seems to affect her, then never switchc again

I wouldn't because it could upset her stomach, I would find a grocery store that is open. Or a 24 hour pharmacy like Wlagreens or CVS, they carry formula.

I think it's a bad idea. It will most likely upset your baby's sensitive little tummy.
