If it was your baby, you can usually request a memorial.

Speak to your main nurse & doctor.

As well, ask for the chaplin for the hospital--they will help you take a memorial print such as this. Or they may have a photographer on staff.

when my friend lost her baby at 5 months, they spoke to the hospital chaplin who arranged to have their pic taken with the baby by this volunteer who did photography.

Sorry for your loss.

You can ask for any mementos you want. Hand prints, foot prints, hair clippings. I'm not sure if all hospitals do this automatically or if you have to request it. You can also have photos if you like.

Some above me asked... why? That is all this person has left to remember their baby by.

It probably is not routine but you can request it. There are also photographers who volunteer their services to families that loose infants.

I'm sorry for your loss. If you ask them to do it, then they will. I can understand why you would want to have them. My thoughts will be with you.
