The best way for your body to absorb iron is through the food you eat. Try spinach and any other leafy green. Make salads, put it in wraps, steam some and mix with other vegetables or soups. If you eat meat, try some lean beef. Beans and lentils are also high in iron, and fibre. There are lots of foods that are high in iron, just experiment and find something that you like.

You really should ask your OB that. I would recommend taking your daily folic acid and vitamins if you have not been doing so already and if it is ok with your doctor I would add in an additional iron pill. Increasing the amount of green leafy vegetables will also help. The darker the veggie the higher the iron content is usually: Spinach, Romaine Lettuce, Collard Greens, Green Beans etc...
As always check with your doctor before trying anything. Good luck!

I was severly anemic throughout my twin pregnancy - my OB gave me a prescription Iron pill and had me take Slow FE twice a day. Before you take anything - ask your doctor!
My OB also told me to eat raisins - for some reason they help your body absord iron better than any other food!

Increase your iron intake. If you do not like liver, then talk to your doctor and get him to give you a dosage for iron supplements. Since increased iron intake may lead to constipation, you may need a return visit to the doctor to get a movement softener.
