Here is a dosage chart for Tylenol. I have it bookmarked.

Here is the Motrin dosage chart:
http://askdrsears.com/html/8/T088900.asp#T088901
If your baby is between 17-21 pounds, the chart says to give 3/4 tsp of Children's Motrin.
This website has a lot of information on illness (and well care). I read this man's books, and I completely trust him. He's got a very successful practice, and 8 kids, so he knows his stuff!

Yes they make motrin for Infants, but tylenol is better for fever. O.2 on the dropper for a child 6 months. Nothing before a child is 6 months of age.

It really depends on your baby's weight. I gave my son at 6 months 1/4 tsp. of Infant Tylenol/Motrin(yes they make infant Motrin). However, he weighed more than most 6 month olds so I would really recommend calling the Dr. He may already be closed for the week but usually they have a triage nurse number that you can call. Mine charges $10 for every on-call nurse but it's worth it especially when it comes to dosing meds....that stuff makes me nervous. If he doesn't then he'll have a number for the on-call physician or your pharmacist. Good luck!

0.8 ml. I have three kids and each time I've asked the doctor and he's always told me that 0.8 ml is the right dosage for kids under 9 months.
You should really use infant Tylenol or infant motrin, which they do make. The children's is a little to much for younger babies.

You need to call your childs doctor. Motrin sometimes isn't safe for children under a certain age. You need to make note of when the fever started and how high it has gotten and ANY other symptoms. If your doctor is unavailable you need to call a hospital or 24 hour nurse hotline.

yes they do make infant motrin, most childrens doses are 1 tsp. I think under one year would half that. So what ever the regular dose is for children over 1 year, divide that in half for children under 1 year. I have to grand children and that is what we did.

i was told (by my dr) that anywhere between 1.5-2 ml is fine. I also use motrin..and it's never bothered my kids, if you're still not too sure, call the dr or a health links number and get their advice, it's what they are there for!

For some reason here in Canada we are allowed to have the dosages, and you aren't in the US. So I have converted the Canadian dosage chart for US strength. Feel free to check my math:
http://www.tylenol.ca/english/product_detail.asp?pro=29
The Canadian is 80mg tylenol per 1mL
The American is 80mg per .8mL
So for American strength the dosage chart should be:
Lbs . . . . . . . . . .Age. . . . . . . . .Dose
Under 12 . . . . .0-3 mos. As directed by a doctor
12-17 . . . . . . 4-11 mos. . . . . . .8 mL
18-23 . . . . . 12-23 mos. . . . . . 1.2 mL
24-35 . . . . . . .2-3 years . . . . . . 1.6 mL
Use weight if possible.

Generally, you let a fever run it's course unless it is very high. The tylenol is dosed according to the weight of the child. Please call the doctor, however.
