she hasnt pooped since yesterday around 1130 am. how do I help her poop? the dr said dark karo syrup, but that hasnt done anything... anybody else know what to do?

Kero syrup is most certainly still recommended, but you won't get an immediate result. We used it with two of my children. Jane is right about gently pushing her knees to her stomach. We would do push for a few seconds, release, repeat. It also helped to "bicycle" her legs. You know, make her legs make the movements as if she were cycling. A lot of times just holding her in a sitting position will help ease the pain she's in and help her get it out. Congratulation on your baby! and Good Luck!

She's only 9 days old and your doctor is suggesting karo syrup because she has'nt pooped in a day and a half?!?!?! EEK!!! Karo syrup isn't recommended now adays anyways. Just let her be.

When your baby seems to be straining to "go", pull her knees to her chest and hold them there for a bit. That will help push things out.
