In a question I read, (I won't say which one) someone wrote this answer:

"Adoption isn't the answer either. You will just stick a child in a system that doesn't care, it's pretty much the same as abandoning it."

I was adopted and I find this pretty harsh. I was a result of a druken one night stand and my mother couldn't have a second child by the time she was seventeen (she had my half brother a year before) and although she considered abortion she decided to put me up for adoption instead. And I am really pleased that she did so.

This person went on to imply that a child is better off aborted than adopted. And this really got to me.

Is this a common view upon people, and are some children being aborted because their mothers believe adoption would be an even worse option?

Why do they start crying when they are tired instead of just going to sleep like a normal person? Also, why do they think it's ok to urinate and defecate whenever they feel like it?

Hi Moms, I realize this may be a dumb question, but what do you do with your little one(s) when you have a doctor or dentist appt.? I don't have anyone to babysit.... I had an ob/gyn appt and fortunately my 20-month old stayed occupied in her stroller, but now that I have a dentist appt., don't see how that can work.... I guess I have to research babysitters, right? Any thoughts as to your own situations? Thanks :)

I have 2 kids of my own (a boy and a girl) so I dont intend on having anymore as I have one of each sex and 2 kids is more than enough for me but I have always considered being a surrogat for someone as I know there alot of lovely couples out there who would love to have a child but cant. I just wanted to know what people thought about it and if anyone on here has been a surrogat for anyone?

Hi I dont know whether this is normal or not during pregnancy
(am 11.5 wks pregnant) but I have got really bad shoulder/back pains.
Am not taking any pain killers or anything and it is probably because my already heavy ample chested self has enlarged even more so, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this also.
Thanks

My son will be 3 in February and I think he still needs naps. He's never been really regular about the time off day he takes a nap, but he usually needs one and is fiercely cranky by the evening if he doesn't take one. But, it is getting harder and harder to get him to fall asleep. Even in the car, which was always my saving grace, he will stay awake.
My DD took naps until she was 5, because they had "rest time' at childcare and she fell asleep most days.

This is an experiment.

Parameters:

1) must sound well with last name Betts, (something that rolls of the tongue, maybe even stick in your head after saying it)

2) No easily forgotten common names, (I grew up Jon. At least it was withot the "h",

3) No riduculously abstract names; also forgetable or often they are horribly mis-pronounced at any role call

4) No play on product names, ie. Lexus, Mercedes , ect..

Thanks and look forward to the suggestion.

Where do you draw the line of abuse? I can't tell you how many times I have seen REDICULOUS questions on here about abuse... asking if things like watching tv, letting a 2 year old stay up late, teaching religion, letting kids play outside, mommy not letting a kid go out at night are ABUSE!

Come ON people! What do you think about this? Is there danger in crying abuse at every little thing? And if you have been abused what do you think of this? I feel like I would be really insulted and angry if I had been through hell and someone was comparing it to a mother feeding her child too many carrot sticks!

I had a miscarriage back in February. About 4 months ago my husband and I started trying again. I have or thought my cycle was 26 days like clockwork. This past month i tried First Response ovulation sticks and found out i was ovulating on day 14. We had unprotected sex right then. I am scheduled to start in 3 days. I took a First Response Early Pregnancy test this moring and yes two bright pink lines. I plan to do the other one in the morning. Could this really be it?

I know a family that has 3 kids, 7yo, 5yo and a 15 mo....
ok, the two older children of this family are not allowed to eat Much..... they are both very healthy, not at all over weight or anything, if anything, they are even on the skinny side.... the mom has had eating disorders, and even though she is skinny, she thinks she is fat..... so, she warns her kids all the time that if they eat much, they'll be fat! this goes overboard at times, for example, at breakfast, if they have cereals and they ask for more, the answer is NO, you've had enough, you can't have more, or if the girl (7yo) wants to have a piece of cake, the mother will yell:"eat the cake if you want to be like that fat girl from your class"
is it my imagination or is it really strange.... i mean i don't think kids at this age should be aware of danges of eating..... we should trust them to eat the amount their body needs.....
will this behavior lead to eating disorders later on in life??? what are your thoughts??

Do you think that a working mother is less of a person than a stay at home mother? Or do you think they are a bad person for having to go to work each day? I know lots of people have different views on this and I'm curious what people have to say about it.

So what's your take? Do you have an opinion of a working mom versus a stay at home mom? Please explain.

Thanks!

My daughter is in middle school and a required course is develpmental guidance. It teaches a lot about the human mind as well. Today my daughter cam home with a 45% paper. Her average is now a D. The only way she can bring up her grade is to particiapate in the new students-helping-students (the develpmental teacher started it) where students give advice to students with problems. To get in the program you need to help someone and write an essay about there problem, your adivce, and if it was fixed (if not why). My daughter is wondering if anyone has a problem she can help. If so please post it here or e-mail it to me using the link on my profile. She will pick a few to help (she will e-mail your Yahoo e-mail). Also, in the essay there won't be a name (the rule is for no names too).

Ok, so today in a class I acidnentally picked up this one girls paper. I found it later and it said "My Will" I kinda got freaked out and told one of my friends and we read it together. It seemed pretty serious. My friend asked this girl (who I am not really friends with because she has some issues) and she said she took 5 of her brothers ADD pills and she did in fact want to kill herself. I am in 6th grade, should I take this seriously? I found out this afternoon so wouldn't she be dead?
Help me please
