I am a mother of a 7 month old boy. My friend has a boy that is 13 months old. We are closer than ever before since we now both have boys around the same age. We do a lot of things together and we bring our boys with us everywhere we go. My friend is a pretty mellow woman and I have always known her to be that way. However, I've noticed her talking a lot about her son's "manhood" lately and it's starting to bother me. She tells pretty much anyone who asks about her son that he is very well endowed. She's not modest about it at all. She always says things like "when my son was born the nurses said that we won't have any problems with the ladies" and "I was shocked when I first saw it, I thought it was the umbilical cord." I'm pretty liberal but I think she needs to give this a rest. If you talk about how chubby his butt is or how big his head is then that's another story. My son was not blessed the way her son was and I don't want my son growing up listening to her inappropriate comment

My LMP was November 6. I have a normal 28 day cycle. We are TTC...and took ovulation tests on November 16 and it was positive. I am assuming I ovulated on November 19, and conceived on November 20. I took an Early Pregnancy Test (Answer) on November 30 (3 of them), 2 on December 1, 1 on December 2, and 1 today (December 3). Today (this afternoon) I took a urine test at the family doctor's office and it was negative...so, when I got home I took an Answer Early Test and it is positive. I did blood work today after the doctor and will get results tomorrow.

I do have the following symptoms:
* sore/tender breasts
* nausea
* lower back pain
* headaches
* tooth aches
* dizzy

What do you think?

I'm not pregnant or having a baby, but maybe in the near future I will start a family. However, I just wanted to know what people thought of the name Hayden Noel or Hayden Noelle for a girl.

My baby has a lot of gas and only wants to be held. He wakes up within ten minutes of putting him down. I'd like to know if others with this same problem had success with the Amby bed.

We have a 5mth old,who has always been rocked to sleep,or jiggled to sleep.Lately,things have changed,and at any notion of it being bedtime or naptime,we begin to rock her,she kicks,cries,jerks and fights it so bad.Ive tried to lay her down in her bed with lullaby and she does the same thing,Ive also tried laying down with her.Nothing seems to help calm her,she will not take a pacifier,she cant figure out how to suck it and keep it in her mouth.Ive given her a bottle to try to calm her,and she will drink it,but ends up throwing it up because she's not really hungry.We dont know what to do anymore to calm her.Any suggestions???and yes,we've tried swaddling,and she hates it!!

I just watched the news and it featured a new Barbie doll.

http://www.barbiecollector.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=K7903

This is the Barbie, representing Cher from her "Turn Back Time" video, when she was singing for military men in a thong bodysuit, boots, garters, etc. as you can see from the picture.

I find this Barbie to be inappropriate, as most young girls do not know Cher, and this just looks like Dominatrix Barbie to me. You think?

I'm a very young mom and I like to think I'm somewhat cool, but something about this, the overly sexy "Bratz" dolls, and all of these toys marketed to young girls are just horrifying. I remember having Barbie and the raciest thing she ever wore was a swimsuit! Obviously, parenting is more important than the influence of any toy, but do you think this is right? Why are things like this even being marketed? More importantly, why are parents buying these things?

My husband and I are getting a divorce, and are splitting physical custody with our kids right now. I know that may not seem like the best situation for the kids, but for now, the boys seem to be handling it quite well. That's not what the question is about.

He was never much for the holiday season, and I am. But we didn't really have much in the way of traditions and stuff.

I need ideas about traditions I can do with my kids to help make this holiday season special for them, despite the family issues going on right now. In the past three weeks, my husband has moved out into his own place, has a girlfriend (who my kids adore) who is there a lot, and money is incredibly tight on both ends.

We're working together as much as we can to be supportive for the boys, so we will both be at Christmas programs (probably the girlfriend will be, too) and we're all coming together when it comes to the boys and their activities.

Anyway -- traditions I could start with them?

Im 33 and would like to have a child in a couple of years when my husband and I have reached our financial goals. I like kids in general, well behaved kids who have seen some discipline in their lifetime, but infants dont do it for me. diapers, screaming, burping, peeing, pooping, barfing, the thought of all that just grosses me out for a lack of better words. Am I alone or do other women out there feel the same?????

i looked it up and found on wikipedia that there isn't any evidence saying that it complicates things.. it just says to take them out while breastfeeding because one of the barbell balls could come off and lodge in the baby's throat (how horrible!!) but i'm a lot smarter than that anyways..

i guess my question is for anyone who has their nipples pierced who did experience complications.. or other way around! if you have them pierced and did not experience complications.. thanks :)

I'm 18 and my boyfriend is 19 and we've been in a relationship for almost 3 years. We've been long distance for the last 2 years though. Next year I'm moving to his city for university. I'm staying in a dorm and he's staying at home.

We're really close and he's like my best friend more than anything.

We were talking about where we see ourselves in the future. He's really keen to get married soon and have children (after university) and that thought just scares me completely. I want to travel and just enjoy my friends before getting married and having children. I'm not even sure if I want to get married.

Do you think this is strange that he's getting clucky and wanting to start a family early? He knows how I feel but I get the feeling he's holding out for me to change my mind. He respects me and I know he wouldn't push it..

Should we not tell children that they are smart? I mean i don't want them getting it over their heads and start talking back at grown ups or treating everybody else like they're stupid. I got no problem with kids getting really smart for their age but it is bothersome when they get the whole, "I'm so smart!" over their heads. What do you think?
