I play music for my son all the time... mostly country and Christmas. Haven't noticed much of a reaction to either one, unless it's upbeat. Then I'll get a couple kicks, but not really in time to the music... just his way of saying "hey, I like that!"

Yes, we played all sorts, reggae, rock, pop, etc. We spent 5 weeks in Egypt when I was pregnant, and he loves that music now. His favourite is R & B, though, and he nearly rocks himself out of the car seat when we put certain tracks on - his favourite is Nelly Furtado. Boy, he's got rhythm!

I played all kinds of music and sang to her. I didn't get a reaction then but my girl is two now and loves to sing and any song she hears she dances and sings straight away.

Yes. Played classical for the first, nothing for the second. Played white noise tapes to drown out ambient city noises when they were very young. Tried rain forest, but the water noises just inspired more waterworks in the bed, so we gave that up...

Yes. I love classical and especially Gregorian chant. I played the Gregorian mass every night as I went to bed. It came in very handy because I have excellent sleepers and I think it is due to the fact that I played it for them right after they were born and they were quite soothed by it's familiarity. :) I have a 2 yr old and a 1 yr old and one on the way.

My father would play Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, all the good stuff to me.

I did when my wife was carying my daughter. I play the guitar and sing. And I did sing alot to her all during her pregnancy. And I am not sure if its coincidence or not, but she is very musically inclined now at 13! So.. play that song for your baby to be!

Right now I play Christmas music for him! Hope he likes it!
It makes me happy... and you know happy mother has a happy baby.

I was severely depressed throughout my pregnancy so I listened to A LOT of Savage Garden. She wasn't fussy what she listened to. Funnily, she's quite into SG now!

Yes and no reaction.
The babies all moved inside whenever they felt like it - (usually when I was tryin to sleep!) lol
The only thing that got a reaction with one was eating hot-peppers! I thought it would kick its way out! :}
