I love the name ROE for a girl. I don't know why but I just think that it is so pretty. My husband thinks it is stupid. I told him that we can use it as a middle name as Brooklyn Roe.

What do you all think???

Apologies in advance - kinda gross topic. You have had your warning!!

How long is the lochia supposed to last? I gave birth 7 weeks ago, there is still bright red blood albeit a very small amount (e.g. i am just wearing pantyliners). I thought it was normal until i looked online and read somewhere that bleeding is supposed to end after 2 weeks.

I have already had my 6 week check up but didnt mention it because i didnt think it was abnormal.

I'm 6 weeks now and have had no morning sickness at all, well maybe a little bit gaggy but that's it. Do some woman not get morning sickness at all. Does it go by how your mothers pregnancy went. I'm hoping I'm one of the lucky ones who doesn't get sick. Are you sick all day, is it after you throw up a couple times in the morning you feel better. I'm so clueless about this stuff.

Are there any names that you love the meaning or signifcance of, but could never bring yourself to name a child because they are just, well, so UGLY? Here are mine...

Beulah -- Biblical name; means "she who is to be married." God calls the nation of Israel this Israel turns back to Him after a period of rebellion. Beautiful meaning, but now it conjures up images of a very large woman living in a trailer park in the South.

Hephzibah -- Biblical name; means "my delight is in her." This was also the name of a sweet little girl in George Eliot's "Silas Marner." But it's just awful, awful, awful!

Artemis -- Greek goddes of wisdom, chastity, and the hunt. Who wouldn't want a daughter who was wise, pure, and strong? Pair it with a one-syllable last name, however, and your daughter will sound like a Transformer. "I am Artemis Gray"... or is she really Optimus Prime?

Just curious what kind of lotions and creams and cleansers everyone else useson their babies/toddlers. I am also interested if anyone makes their own. I hear olive oil is good but I have not tried it. Also, my baby has eczema so if anyone can recommend any good products for it, that would be great!

i love the name Nora and my boyfriend suggested Mabel for a middle name. What do you think? and what about suggestions for boy names, something cute (both first and middle names). Something unique, but not weird.

This truly is for a friend, I am 32 weeks pregnant and do not need to know my chances of being pregnant lol.

A friend of mine, who is unfortunatly only 15 (that makes it hard for her to go to a doctor to talk with) had sex on Friday night, while on her period. They used a condom but it did break.

She is know freaking out because she knows how her family would react. Her 18 year old sister just had a baby 2 months ago and her older sister is now pregnant. Her mother is upset at them and they are older. She is terrified she could be pregnant.

So, what are her chances? Are they raised because she was on her period?

The types of peer-pressures that I faced during the 70's pale in comparison to the "anything goes, sky-is-the-limit, go-for-it" challenges that seem to invade my 13-year old daughter on a daily basis. It's like a giant downhill snowball......help!

We travelled and now are settled. She's extremely smart and a great "teacher's pet." Other kids are intimitated by her because she is so smart and loves to help. They tease her all the time because she gets straight A's and knows more than the class. Any suggestions for a good book, advice for my wonderful daughter. She was crying tonight and I don't know what else to say. I've bought her 3 books on how to handle bullies, etc., but she's super sensitive and they don't seem to help. PLEASE HELP!

I am pregnant with my first and planning on breastfeeding and using cloth diapers. My husband and I decided that was what we wanted to do, both for the money savings and for the health of the baby.
The problem is his mother. She doesn't agree with the choices, she would much rather we use formula and disposable diapers because they are more convenient. This would not be an issue, but she is going to be helping us out with baby sitting several times a week (we both work full-time and odd hours). As far as the diapers go, if she is going to supply the diapers then it's not a big deal, the baby can wear pampers or whatever while he/she is with her. I have a bigger issue with the formula.
I DO NOT want the baby on formula. I am going to be pumping breast milk and preparing it ahead of time so I don't see how that's any less convenient then formula. How can I make her see that this is OUR baby and she is going to have to respect our wishes about the food he/she eats?

My almost 8 year old in grade 2 is causing me nothing but head aches. She gets so easily distracted when in school that she doesn't get her work done. When she brings it home it is a constant battle to get it done here and I am so frustrated that I am in tears and just don't know what to do anymore.

I have talked to the teachers, we have changed her seating, we have tried taking things away, we have tried rewarding her when she gets it done, we have tried EVERYTHING!

Please help me and no rude answers. I have had enough childish crap to last me a life time.

After watching an old western movie together, my young daughter looked at me, scrunched her little face up in the most serious look a 3-year old possibly could, and asked, "Were people still alive back in the old days?"
I had to muster all the energy I had to resist busting out laughing, and give her a seemingly well thought-out tidbit of Daddy wisdom, which I cannot seem to recall........!

Hi. I am a first-grade teacher and I have a room parent who is always bringing in treats for the kids, buying supplies for our classroom, and helping with crafts. I know she is doing this because she values her daughter's education (and she realizes teacher don't have the funds to buy all this stuff themselves).

Last time she brought in treats, my students expressed a desire to get her a little gift because she is always helping us. I already had them make thank-you cards for her a few months ago. Does anyone have any great ideas of a little thank-you gift we could give her, maybe around Christmas time? (I know this isn't necessary -- I just think it's great that the students want to express their appreciation and I want to encourage that. It's not really appropriate for it to be an expensive gift, as the reason she is buying stuff for the classroom is that she knows I don't have the money to purchase it all. It would be great if the kids could make something.)
