Love it. ;)
I'd likely lean toward a longer first name that offers Nora as a nickname -- only to vary the flow a bit (since Nora and Mabel are both two syllables and accented on the first). Eleanor, Elinora, Annora(h), etc. But that's just a personal thing. The name is certainly lovely, classic and even refreshing, as is. ;)
I'd definitely look for an equally intriguing, timeless option for a boy.

Something along those lines. ;)

Nora and Mabel are both old fashioned names and your child will probably hate it. Not to worry, she will hate anything you call her. Kids just are that way. They all wish they were someone else. Your local library or a book store will have books about names. ( where they came from and what they mean etc.) Do some reading together and if you guys still like your original name choice then, go for it. : ) Just don't come up with something too dorky or your child will be picked on by her school mates, and her self esteem might suffer. Think back to when you were in school and how different names were treated. Best Wishes to you all.

I am pregnant and if it is a girl, we are naming her Mabel. I love it...be warned though, a lot of ppl make fun of me, but I don't care. I like Nora too, but Nora is a big Snore-a.
For a boy we were thinking of Jack, Emerson, or Gideon.

Nora is one of my favorites. Mabel is too old fashioned, aweful really. Norah Rose is my favorite. I like the names Brayden Michael, Kelly Shannon, Trevor Daniel, Carly Marie, Jack London, Marlie BreeAnn. Then there are the names I like but don't know what would go w/ them. Sage, Hunter, Skyler, Tanner, Chase,Forrest,River, August, April, Summer, Connor, Turner, Drake, Graham.Of course, I also like all the old standards.

Mabel sounds pretty, but sorry not Nora. Nora kind of sounds like nose. How about Lilyanne, Lindi, Brianna, Alyssa, Chastity, or Charissa. I love those names. For a boy, I really like the name Caradoc (Welsh for beloved). You can go to name-meanings.com to get really cool names.
