Apologies in advance - kinda gross topic. You have had your warning!!

How long is the lochia supposed to last? I gave birth 7 weeks ago, there is still bright red blood albeit a very small amount (e.g. i am just wearing pantyliners). I thought it was normal until i looked online and read somewhere that bleeding is supposed to end after 2 weeks.

I have already had my 6 week check up but didnt mention it because i didnt think it was abnormal.

You may already be getting your period back. I got mine shortly after my 6 week checkup and it took me by surprise because it had been so long since I'd had it. Also, the amount and length was weird so it may not seem like a normal period. The lochia should be over by now, so if you don't think it's your period, I would call the doctor.

It's quite normal to be still bleeding 12 weeks after birth. The majority is only 6-8 weeks. As long as it's not smelly etc sounds OK to me. I bled for 9 months after having my daughter. This really isn't normal. But in my case it was. I had LOTS of tests done and all were fine. in the end the doctors(many doctors) said it was normal for me. Let me tell you it was horrible!!! I became anemic. I'm 19 weeks pregnant, and PRAYING it doesn't last as long this time.lol

I gave birth 8 weeks ago and mine just ended 2 days ago. Mine was also bright red. My midwife said there was nothing to be worried about as long as it ended within 8 weeks. After that, you dr. can run a hormone blood test to see whats going on. Congrats on the baby! Hope you're getting more sleep now!

The 2 weeks thing is wrong. It's differnet with everyone. Mine lasted about 3 weeks but after my friend had her baby, she bled for 8 weeks!

definately go back and get it checked out it could lead to infections or heavy internal bleeding, its rare but you should still get it checked

it can take as long as it needs to... every woman is different... but if you are just using pantie liners then i would say it is ok... but if you get worried you can always call and ask if it is ok...
