The types of peer-pressures that I faced during the 70's pale in comparison to the "anything goes, sky-is-the-limit, go-for-it" challenges that seem to invade my 13-year old daughter on a daily basis. It's like a giant downhill snowball......help!

that's why you start when they are young and build a relationship and instill values from young age. They seem to forget them as the enter teen years...but somehow it all comes back to them in their 20's. Hang on for the ride...let her know you love her and will always love her. Keep talking to her...make that time...it will help. Keep a sense of humor about you...come here and ask other parents for help when you need too, folks here really care. Good Luck!!

It's tough, KY. My youngest is nearing 18, and the problems with that child have been more than with all the others--combined--and they have still not ended.

Yes, we adults were no problem at all compared to the kids of today. I wish you a lot of luck in dealing with your daughter.

They need to be brought up to be their own person. They also need to know that it alright to disagree with someone and to not be afraid to speak up. They will make better decisions about not giving into peer pressure.
