it was just confirmed on saturday that i am having another little girl due in april so its time to find a name and it has to start with the letter 'd'. i dont care if you dont like everyone in the family having names that start with the same letter, we want to keep with the 'tradition' so if you dont have any good suggestions then dont answer. so far there is (boys and girls) deago, darien, destiny, demitrio, deviny, delliny, devon, dominique, d'angelo, and derrick. the last name is salcido. my fiance likes dakota but i dont think it fits so any suggestions would be really appreciated. also, any cute nursery themes? my daughter already has tinkerbelle so maybe something similar but unique at the same time...thanks!

When is it neccessary to spank or (whoop as we call it in the hood). See, where I'm from alot of parents will discipline their children with whoopings, verbal punishments and spankings. But, to be honest I rarely ever see caucasians or some other races doing it. Now, I don't believe in child abuse but I do believe that you can spank your child every now and than if the punishments are not helping at all. There is line between beating and spanking. When I was as a child my siblings and myself received spankings and we all turned out to be very responsible, respectable adults. If your child was out of control what would you do? Again, this is just a hypothetical question to see how people respond. Gimme some feedback. holla

I have a little girl who is 3 weeks old today and as it's my first I'm still learning. I breast feed her but don't know if I'm doing it right. She sleeps for 3/4 hours and when she wakes up I feed her but the feeds usually take about 1 hour or more. The reason is that she falls asleep (we had the first check up last week and the doctor says to wake her up gently to see if she wants more and then try the other breast and to try to wind her between breasts). I do this and she burps ok and then falls asleep fine. The problem is that when I go to lay her down she's sick quite a lot (not all the time but usually). I'm worried that she's being sick because she's eating too much or that after she's sick she's still hungry. She doesn't cry so I assume that she's ok although she usually gets hicups after feeding so I try not to move her so much. Also when she first starts feeding she takes really big gulps and sometimes starts to choke a little so I have to sit her up right and pat her.

At first I had an easy time breastfeeding (unlike with my first son) until my milk came in. Now the baby has problems latching on correctly and I really don't even want him to feed that way they hurt so bad. Is there any way I can continue once they go down? Can I just manually pump for a while as if he was feeding that way until they soften up? How long will this last?
I was really happy breastfeeding until my boobs turned into rocks. They are worse than the csection pain. Thanks for your help!

I'm currently 23 wks. pregnant, and I have been wearing my regular size jeans the whole time (I'm not doing it on purpose though, just some personal reasons). Well, I am a little concerned because I have to stand for several hours at work, and I feel the fetus move upwards several times, and my belly becomes hard. Then I feel suffocated at times, and with a need to go to the bathroom, because I'm obviously putting pressure on my bladder as well. I have heard that the fetus is very well protected in the uterus, but I still wonder if I'm making my baby uncomfortable, and not just myself. I would appreaciate it if you guys know anything about this, or experienced something similar..?

My son is 3 mos & been cooing & starting to babble. My mother in law has taken it upon herself to utilize the time that she spends with him to repeatedly sing " I love you" to him. After an hour with him, she said, he said " I love you" to her. I know that he never said that to her, but she proclaimed to everyone that he did. I did not reply to her comment but my face should have been enough to know that she was overstepping her boundaries here. She now spends every moment with him saying these words over and over. I am a first time mother who is dreading going back to work because she wants to take over. she has done this with her granddaughter who is jealous when she holds my baby, but is not jealous when her own mother holds my baby. I do not want my child growing up wanting her over me, as I know this is her goal. She has taken a precious moment away from me by saying my son told her "I love you" first. I feel she will do this with his true firsts. Am I wrong in feeling this way?

I have a baby who is on the verge of going to one nap a day. Honestly she could go one day with 2 naps the next day with one and so on.
But I'm really not sure if she is better off giving up her morning nap or her afternoon nap. Like today she went down for a nap at 10 but most days I try not to put her down till 11:45.
I'm a little scared she is going to be a grouch by the time 8 rolls around

She will be 1 in 6 days. She is on the 70th percentile for weight (she weighs 21 pounds) so I am afraid she is getting too heavy for her age. My husband & I are both 5'5 so she is short, just like our other daughter, at 1 our other daughter weighed 18 pounds. Which was a little underweight. I feed her a serving of food at breakfast lunch and dinner and then also snacks, but she cries all day long and sucks her thumb like she is starving. And I don't starve her I will give her things to snack on. She also is drinking milk and juice during the day too. (she is off formula). When we go out anywhere we bring snacks and 2 drinks and she eats them and drinks them and still cries. Please help me what is going on with her? Maybe she is using food as a comfort and that is NOT a good thing is it??! Our other daughter (almost 4) does pretty much the same thing, just wants to eat allllll day long! But she is only 30 pounds so she is a little under average. Help please!?

Should a parent be allowed to teach their children that homosexuality is wrong? If not, what should the penalty be to the parents who do?

Should a parent be allowed to teach their children their faith? If not, what should the penalty be to the parents who do?

My opinion is that parents should be free to teach their morals and faith to their children and they should be free to associate with people with like morals and faith, and they should be free to not associate with people with radically different morals and faith.

I have a history of miscarriages and low progesterone. I DO have two kids...the big problem is that the group I am seeing on Thursday I have never met with so, they may or may not do anything.

I feel that in my heart I most likely am miscarrying again and I don't know what to do...I KNOW that I need progesterone suppositories, but is it too late? I don't have a prescription for it yet and with the spotting, I fear it is already too late to start anything.

What is even worse is that my husband is out of town right now!

Hello. I am 32 weeks preg with my first and just had my baby shower this past Sat. I have a lot of clothes and blankets I need to wash before she arrives, but want to know what kind of detergent I should use? I know of the "Dreft" stuff and the "All" for babies. But... is that ALL I can use? It's just so expensive and I was wondering if any other soap that was less pricey worked for you? Obviouslly, I will spend the $ if I must, but I thought I'd check. Thanks! :)
