Compared to today's "unique" names, I suppose so. I had Grandpas Walter and Clifford and Grandmas Norma and Eleanor (which I plan to use if we have a girl).
My great grandparents all had very Nordic names which escape me at the moment. I did have a Great-Grandma Beret (that's not how you spell it, but that's how it sounds) but they changed it to Bertha (ugh!) when she came to the US. How unfortunate.
My aunt's name is Laraine (instead of Lorraine), which I just recently realized translates as 'the queen'. That's kinda neat. She was named after Laraine Day.

The closest to 'unique' in my immediate family is my mother: Margo Lee. It's a combination of her parents, Margaret and LeRoy.
I have family from the Deep South from the turn of the century, too, though, so my ancestors have some doozies:
Great-Grandpa Gus
My Great-great-aunts: Sulu, Sylvie, and Delta
My great-uncles: Oscar and Orville
My great-great uncles: Boy, Georgetten (his dad's name was George, and his mother was Loretta, pronounced Geor-jettin', I used to call him George Jetson when I was little), Deke, and Lou-pop.
And my aunt did a lot of drugs and her kids names are pretty goofy, especially taken as a whole:
James
John
Jakey (not Jacob or Jake, Jakey)
Laura (my aunt's name, too!)
Lauren
Laurel
Laurelei (not spelled correctly, Lorelei, but spelled to 'match' Laurel, her twin.)
Shaun
Shawnna (not Shaun's twin)
Corki (a girl!)
Freaking ridiculous!

listed the following are distinctive the unusual names in my relations tree: Delphin, Darwin, Kermit, Serepta, Temperance and that i had a grandmother whose call change into Lovina, yet her nickname change into "Love". I had uncles who had no center names yet basically basically the initials of their moms and dads' very last names (Walter A. and Welby O.). Your Hartwell sounds like a relations call. also, a buddy of mine has relations whose very last call is buddy. In my relations, many members were named after presidents alongside with: James Madison, Woodrow Wilson, Andrew Jackson, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

My brother's name is Keegan, though I hear that it's getting a little more popular these days. My middle name is Skye, and I always wished it was my first name because it's so much cooler than Amy!
