My boyfriend and I have recently had a baby, and we are saving up money so we moved in with his parents, well.. I loved his mom until the baby arrived, i found a TOTALLY new side of her ive never seen before! My boyfriend has a sister and his mom is OBSESSED with our baby wearing HER old outfits. i bought my baby a costume for halloween, and his mom put my baby in his sisters costume from when she was a baby. i brushed it off, but then for christmas i bought my daughter a christmas dress and a babys first christmas bib, and once again his mom pulls out his sisters dress and bib, am i being selfish? i feel like this is MY baby, not his sisters, and she should be wearing my old stuff! pllzzzzzzzz help!

I attended a funeral service yesterday and my sister in law breastfed her baby throughout the service - she was in the front row too, on view to the people taking/speaking at the funeral.
do you think this is disrespectful or normal?
I found it offensive. She could have at least excused herself and gone into the back room
or am I being too sensitive

I don't know if I am having B/B, G/G, or B/G, all I know is that I am having twins!!! I love hyphenated names. But I don't like names with Caitlin (or any spelling), Anne or Ann, or Mary, or Marie. Also I'd like the names to be unique and not at all popular...

Sadly, we just found out that my son's best friend @ preschool has been unexpectedly diagnosed with stomach cancer. This is my son's 1st yr. in preschool but really got attached to this boy. Its been 2 wks since his friend left for the hospital & my son has been isolating himself from others, aggressive behavior, throwing huge tantrums & even stepped backwards in potty training skills. I provide lots of TLC & his teacher is very supportive also. But he just won't talk about it. What else should I do to help him to deal with his feelings? How can I get him to surface them? We've sent gifts to his friend to let him know he's missed. any other suggestions?

This guy and I used to like each other. Then he said we'd be better as friends. Then he liked another girl. He always talked to me about her. Then I started liking this guy. my son is 2 and he always chews on his finger nails and toe nails. I dont get it. I dont know where he got it from cus me and my husband dont chew on our nails. HE just seams like he always has to chew on something, toys, sometimes the wall or anything hard. My doc said oh its just a phase, and they told me that when he was about 6 months old, and it hasnt stoped its gotten worse, and i dont know what to do to stop him, when i tell him to stop he doesnt listen, he never does, and it really makes me mad sometimes.

I heard about a baby development DVD but I can't remember what it was called. It's basically a continuous movie with shots of nature, ie flowers opening, grass blowing in the wind, bugs crawling etc (all real) and it has Classical music played throughout. Ok, so I am an aunt and I am writing this because of a disturbing conversation I had today regarding my neice with my sister.
My neice, 5, has a speech impediment. She is introverted, and very much the sporty/rough n tumble type (not at all the girly-girl, or dress up type). Despite her roughness around the edges she is very sweet, shy, and wouldnt hurt a fly.
She has just started kindergarten this year. I regret to find out she has been being bullied at school. This one boy hits her in the face (twice), steals her toys and throws them, and speaks to her appaulingly (this boy, also 5, tells her she must have slept with the school! Can you imagine! they are both 5 years old!!!).
One day, my sister caught her trying to put on makeup (very out of character) as to not appear "ugly".

My sister has already spoken to the teacher who has advised my neice to stay away from the boy. The teacher is young and inexperienced. My neice sometimes comes home crying and is upset. Cont'd...

My son now is nine months old, he refuse to drink milk from bottle. He just want breast milk directly from my breast, even i pump it out, he also do not want it from bottle. I try for many times in many ways. My husband try to feed also do not want. Few months ago, i already give up trying, I just give him solid food and breast milk. But I really hope he will drink formula milk from bottle. Do u all think is already too late for me to try again, he already 9 months!!!!!Should i give up???? i've been a stay at home mom for over a year. my husband works and makes enough money that i could stay home with my son. he actually prefers that i do because of all the germs and sickness in most daycares. well i started a new job at a daycare and i recently enrolled my son. my son is 4 yrs old and kicks and screams every morning,when i drop him off. i can't even pass his room during the day because if he sees me he starts crying and saying that i'm gonna leave him and not come back. i feel absolutely terrible. i'm right around the corner from him all day. am i putting him through too much? should i quit? he makes me feel like i'm being selfish because i wanna work and make my own money. on top of everything the owners have offered me a supervisor position. should i stay or go because i do care about my son's feelings and don't want him to hate me and do you think he'll ever get used to daycare?

i didnt know this in a book i read called milk money and madness all about breastfeeding issues and politics i learned that the mother has the bacteria and/or infection memorized in her digestive system that turns into plasma cells for the baby and it fights off infection which is very true any way my question is why does everyone think that after breastfeeding is done the benefits suddenly disappear? is this true? aside with healthy habits another important issue when is it a good age to stop when its really weird that people will look at me like im crazy? i want to stop at 2- 3 because i see all the benefits will i be a weird person if i do this? thank you and please only mature answers are appreciated!
