Pregnancy & Parenting - 30 November 2007

I have taken his temperature= 98.5. So, he doesn't have a temp but he has been having stomach problems. I've tried almost everything, already spoke to the doctor etc. I need to know what I can give him that will help him calm down and maybe sleep more than 30 minutes at a time. He has been doing this since 4:00 today and it is now 1:00 am where I live. Poor little boy is extremely tired. His eyes drift off to sleep and then he wakes up screaming in pain. Any suggestions are welcome. Mylicon is not working but it is definitely his belly. Thanks in advance.

I am 16, and last weekend I was caught at my house drinking with two of my (girl) friends. It was late, and we weren't going anywhere. And there were no boys there. I know that it's illegal and wrong to drink underage--and that is not what I'm asking.

I am grounded for a month (until Christmas). My dad says that even though it was just at my house, it means that he can't trust anything else that I say I'm doing (which I know is understandable).

Do you think this is a fair punishment? I still have my car,phone, computer, etc. I just can't hang out with ANY friends or go to ANY friend related activities.

Even though I'm a kid, I really do believe that a month is a bit harsh. Simply because it was just girls and we were locked in my house for the night.

Do you think this is a bit severe or is it a decent punishment? And yes, I know I am bad and wrong and whatever else.

I'm 29 weeks pregnant and my first childbirthing class is suppose to be tomarrow. I'm kind of undecided if I actually want to go or not. I know it would be good to go to learn the different techniques. But unfortunatly my husband had to have hernia surgery on Thursday and can't get around on his own yet. His dad offered to come over but I just don't think I can sit through a 5hr class and not be home taking care of him. Anyone have any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

iam afraid he is not feeding well,last time his weight gain was fine but after that his feeding paterns changed, he feeds lfrom 5 to6 times a day, breastfeeding and only 1 bottle of the feeding is smilac alim entum. the dr said i could give him prune juice, i did before but it didnt help. and i dont want him to get used on suppository, what shall i do,? and how long should i leave him to poop on his own ?

...and yes, it was accident, but I don't feel any better for it. We have started potty training and I was taking off his pants (to remove his diaper) and he tripped and hit the porcelean part of the toilet causing an instant HUGE black bruise above hsi eye. I freaked. My mom drove us out to ER and they said he was fine (acted normal, only cried for about a minute), but I still fill horrible. Last spring he had two fever seizures and was moved to a children's hospital. I feel like I failed him TWICE this year. Why do I feel this way?

I am not due until July and have my first antenatal appointment next week, I am starting to chang emy mind on what sort of birth i want i think i would prefer a ceserian can you change your mindor do you have to stay with what you have already chosen? and if they dont have room to do a ceserian but i dont want to give birth vaginally what can they do?

Well my due date isnt until Saturday but the doctors are going to induce me on Friday, if i dont go into labor before then.. (I had an accident and fell on my belly giving me steady contractions) So this was my option. Personally I know how much it can suck as a kid to not have your name on any object but I think if i had saw my name spelled "wrong to me"/ the correct way to everyone else, I would be upset, Like okay they have it spelt that way but how come not the way I do?

Im nursing my new baby. I have done this with my other 3 too, but they have never become this attached. She wont let anybody hold her. If they do, she cries, and stops as soon as she gets back in my arms. I know my Hubby is hurt. He cant hold her too long either. He tries so hard to make her stop crying, and he looks so hurt. My 3 y.o. has always been fearful of new things/places/people. She's supposed to start preschool next week, 2 days a week. I talked to the teacher beforehand and asked her if I could observe the class. She said she can't tell me not to, but she thinks it would be better if I just left my daughter there after about 5 minutes. I think I should let my daughter see the class first, observe it, and stay maybe half an hour and leave with her. Then the next time we come I can leave her there after 5 min. Or will this make it worse? I'm so afraid for my little girl but I want to do the right thing.

Im pregnant, and I couldnt be more happy!! Im only 2 months, but I already feel I love my baby more than life! - I have some friends who have baby and are young as well, but they tell me its not too bad, and they seem to be doing great, but my mom says my life is over and it was the worst thing that could happen to me ... I am having such a hard problem finding a "my first Christmas" outfit for my son. He will be 11 months old on Christmas and no one seems to make anything bigger than 9-12 month old size clothes that say my first Christmas on it. he is such a tall lil boy that i really prefer to put him in 12-18 month pants and sleepers.

So, I know I just asked a couple weeks ago or so about things I could do to get my baby to rotate... sadly, he has not and he's still in the breech position. Its an awkward position, because he lays almost at a diagonal in my stomach, rather than plain horizontal or vertical. He's getting a lot bigger, and my stomach is getting a lot harder, which means he's running out of room to turn himself.

I go in again next week for yet another ultrasound to measure the amniotic fluid and to see really how much room he has to move. I'm wondering, though, because at that point I will be 2 days shy of 39 weeks (full term, essentially), if I can just opt to have a c-section then and there (well, when they deem me ready for one), rather than try for a version (which could end up in fetal distress and a c-section anyways). Do doctors allow you to do that? Especially if you're near the end?

Just curious as to your experiences... I'm a first-timer and the whole thing is rather daunting.
