Pregnancy & Parenting - 30 November 2007

my nearly 9 month old is having a growth spurt and teething pains at the same time. this has resulted in him being very hungry and sleepy, but refusing to eat or sleep. the result is a very grumpy baby. what can i do? i've given him baby motrin once today, but i don't like to over-medicate him. i tried some teething medicine, but it really made no difference. does anybody have any good advice?

my friend started her baby on rice cereal at 4 months and he's not even 6 yet and she gives him baby applesauce, veggies, etc. is this normal? i'm asking because i'm due in march and i like to know these things, and i guess it also depends on your peditrician's recommendations, but i was just wondering what your opinions are. thanks.

My husband and I have been ttc for quite some time now and I was just curious as to when you start feeling as if you might actually be pregnant. Has anyone ever felt there was something different with your body or had strange sensations and sure enough you were pregnant? If so, what were the clues. Yes, I know all about the early pregnancy symptoms but I kinda want to read peoples experiences.

I am I think about 11 weeks pregnant with Geoffs <---my bf. & I feel like Geoff isn't giving me enough attention between his (2jobs...loan officer & a little internet business)job & (I work 3 days a week for 7 hours a day I bring in at least half his income)my job. I feel like he never has time for me.. he works late hours <---Im sleepy by time he gets to see me.. I told I was going to find attention somewhere else if he doesnt start making time for me... I'm 24 years old, and I don't particually like kids and babies. Never have, never will, and definately don't want any of my own. When ever I tell people this, they either look at me like I'm Hitler, or they pitty me. Why is this? Or if it's not that, they will say "Oh, you're young, you will change your mind" which i think is extremely patronising. I've never had paternal instincts, it just doesn't come naturally to me. So why do you think me and other women like me get judged? Do you think this makes us bad people?

We live in a pretty upscale neighborhood but the house across the street from us i think is running a drug thing. They always have vans and police over there. They always have people that dont look very nice over there constantly. This one man went up to my son and niece and asked them for 50 dollars and said that if they wanted they could come "have fun" with him. Luckily my 19 year old neighbor was walking along and came up to him and he left. I called the police but they dont seem to be doing anything. I dont know what else to do?
