I invited my Sis to be there for my baby's birth, (a month from now). Then Mom called & said she wants to be there too. I felt bad inviting Sis but not Mom, so I said okay. Then mom said she thought Grandma would really like to be there too, and I should invite her. I thought this was becoming out-of-control. I told her I didn't feel like having a party in the delivery room and all these people were going to get in the way, but somehow grandma got invited, too.

Well, hubby and I have been discussing the possibility of a drug-free birth and I'm starting to feel that, with all these dam people distracting us, I'm going to lose my focus, be completely unable to relax, and won't be able to do it. Plus, I'm worried that SOMEONE will forget who the mom and dad are, and try to run things ("Why don't you just get that epidural, dear?"). I can just see it.

Is there a polite way to go back on my promise? I still don't mind Sis being there...but Mom and Grandma are just too much!!

at their husbands, boyfriends, whomever. At least they do so in films and books. It seems to be a classic. Is this a must? Suppose you won't shout "I hate you" , will they ask you to leave the hospital and go give birth elsewhere?

I've been charting my cm and temps for the past 7 months and usually i'm totally dry by 2dpo and stay that way until I get my period. Now at 4dpo I noticed thick creamy milky like cm. I had strange light cramps the past two days and still feel strange feelings down there...maybe it's all in my head!
I know most places say implantation can't happen any earlier than 6dpo but I found a site last night that says the earliest can actually be 3dpo and also any cramping might possibly just be the fertilized egg making its journey.

In april/2007 i had a misscarage at 6-7 weeks, then i got pregnant maybe 4 weeks after that. I ended up having a blighted ovum in result of getting pregnant too soon. With both pregnancies i had to have a D&C. Because it wouldnt pass on its own. 8/07 was my last d&C .. Now i am pregnant again. i found out 4 days ago. I am so scared. I mean I really want this baby. I already have a 3 year old son. the pregnancy with him was great. no complications. i have a u/s in december to make sure that this baby is ok..
Any one else with this kind of story. and words of advice?!

I want to bottlefeed my breastmilk, so I know how many ounces she is getting and to get her on a better schedule!

For those of you who have done this, is it a pain to pump all of the time and did you have a routine?

In our house and my husbands house while growing up Santa would bring the one big toy and then the stocking stuffers. We're doing the same for our children.

How do you explain that to your child who's really good and has the one gift from Santa and was happy with it until she hears that Bad Girl Suzy gets the Barbie Dreamhouse, TV and Holiday to Disneyland and now your child views her Barbie Computer which she was originally happy with but now views it as dinky from Santa?!!

Do you think that the belief of Santa would exsist longer if we all had some sort of unspoken rule?!

Why is it an outrage because the father tried to kill the baby but when a mother does it , it is ok. Im not trying to start something I would just like to understand.

If you dont feel like reading, its about a guy who put the RU486 abortion pill into his GF smoothie, she noticed the powder did not drink it and sent it in for testing which revealed the results. Now the guy is being charged with intentional homicide of an unborn baby. Why is it ok for a woman to get one but when a man does he , he is looking at prison?

Help me understand in a ~mature~ opinion.

THis is a strange thing, my wife is pregnant and she is starting to gain weight, crave food, that morning sickness thing. It's very odd, but I am doing the exact same thing. Vomiting every morning, gaining a lot of weight(I am a very healthy man who exercises daily, eats right, and cuts my tv time, doesnt drink beer, and doesnt sit around all day) and I am growing boobs. It's a scary thing knowing you have man boobs. Does any of you know what this means?

My son is 16 months old. He is in love with his binky. I want to try to break him of it by the time he is 18 months old. It's just starting to look silly and if he gets a hold of it during the day it keeps him from talking and trust me, you don't want to be the one that takes it away from him. Anyway moms if your kids had a binky obsession how did you wean them?

I was adopted from Korea. Now that I'm grown and married, my husband and I think we'd like to one day adopt even if we can have biological children. We haven't "tried" yet! :) Adoption is obviously something close to my heart. My brother & SIL adopted about 2 years ago - private, domestic. The adoption cost them around $13,000 upfront. My husband & I aren't looking to adopt right now but hearing that cost is alarming! While we'd love to adopt at some point, it's hard to think we'd ever be able to afford that price! Is it "cheaper" to adopt through the state foster agencies instead of doing an expensive private adoption agency? I know that sounds horrible but I'm just thinking about options. Are there many kids 2 and under in public foster agencies though? From what I hear, many kids in those agencies have disabilities or are born with addictions. Is that just a stereotype?! It sounds like one!

A friend of mine makes her 13 yo daughter wear a bodysuit, that undergarment that covers all your torso, back and nd breasts and clips at your crotch. The girls hates that thing, says it's uncomfortable, makes her sweat and none of her friends wear thst thing. But my friend, her mom , says it's for her best, thinks it's god for her body and especially for modesty. She says if most moms were like her, there wouldnt be so many cases of teen pregnancy. She doesnt back off, her girl tried to rebel but got punished, grounded and had to give in. I dont agree w/ my friend though I know she's sure its for her girl best. I'd like to know if this can be considered child abuse. I don't think it is, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I don't think it'd be a good idea for the girl to report her mom and I dont think she would, after all shes her mom , but Id like to know if this is illegal

I want to rent a local hall. My house is way in small for everyone. It's also in January way to cold for an outdoor party. I think I want to have a circus theme. Have clowns, and face painting, and things of that nature. Not sure what to put in the goodie bags, ages will run from 1 to 13. Any ideas for games ,and activites for the kids?? I also thought since her b-day is January 1(week after xmas) instead for gifts. Bring items for childen less fortunate then ours. Like hats, mittens, and such. Sound good to anyone?? Ideas?? I have to start planing this ASAP.

she eats 6 ounces of formula every 3 hours or 4. she eats gerber oatmeal cereal in the morning and a jar of gerber food for lunch or sometimes she'll have rice cereal. then in the evening she'll have a snack like cheerios or gerber puffs. but lately we have been letting her try bites of adult food if we are eating dinner we'll give her a bit of rice or mashed potatoe or bread.

and am wondering how much exposure to other children he needs.? I moved to a new place about 8 months ago and friends are few and far between. I have been with him almost his entire life. (hardly any day care) People are always saying negative things about him not being in preschool or daycare but I don't really see why that matters all that much. My son is very intelligent ,but is also very hypersensitive. I am really worried about his social skills and his seperation anxiety. . Any advice with someone who is in the same situation or was in this situtation. What should I do? And no I am not planning on having any more children.
