Where does the fruits and vege's come in? She needs to be eating those too. Like her bottles, cereal for breakfast, vege's and fruit for lunch. Meat and fruit for dinner. Then before bed you could give her some cereal. Go to beechnut.com they have suggested daily menus on there. Good luck!

The amount sounds okay, but constructively, mom-to-mom, I'd suggest using the Gerber more as a 'back-up" for when you're going out, need something super quick, etc. As easy as it is to open a jar of gerber fruit that was last on a tree a year ago before being chemically processed and having the nutrients killed off by heat, you can cut an apple in half and scrape across it with a spoon as you feed her (comes off as applesauce) or pop it in the blender/ food processor. Or mash a banana up. Steam some zucchini. Bake off an acorn squash with a bit of cinnamon and/ or garlic and puree it, you'll get about five servings from it. Honestly, many moms, especially in the states, just aren't taught to think this way, but it is really no more work to give your child fresh, healthier food and a curious palette that will serve her for life. Mashed potatoes are fine, but try to stick to whole grain breads, and sweet potatoes are even better. Same as with the acorn squash, by making two whole sweet potatoes you can get from 5-8 servings. Hope you're not offended, I don't mean to offend at all, but kids often don't eat healthy enough and it harms them throughout adulthood - you can change that now. gerber's first interest is not your child's longterm health, it is Gerber profits. Gerber etc. should be supplementary/ situational.

If the baby is gaining weight appropriately, she's eating enough. At her age, breastmilk or formula should be the main part of her diet. You may want to offer some fruits, veggies and protein in place of some of the carbs. The cereals and puffs don't offer much nutrition.

Sounds like a good amount. It really depends on how many 6 oz bottles she's getting throughout the day.
A minimum of 24 oz's & a max of 32 oz's is the recommendation.
As far as nutrition, she's getting almost all of it from the formula anyway.
Just go by her queues. If she seems like she wants more at any time, give it to her. Teething & growth spurts will mess with the amount of food she wants to take too.

when my son was 8 months he ate a lot of table food. And usually nursed 4-5 times a day, and ate 2-3 containers of baby food. But I think it evens out.
She's not fat, and she's not hungry, so I'd have to say it sounds like you're doing a great job.

my baby's pediatrician said you can give them fruit purees after their lunch if they are still hungry. you can also give them another jar for dinner. i too give my son some table food (he is almost 9 months) and honestly his feeding schedule is changing because he is refusing most baby food now! i figure its because of flavor now.
it sounds like your baby is eating enough. if she shows signs of hunger you can increase a little. but it seems like your doing a good job =)

that is almost exactly what i feed my 8 mo. old.
sometimes more, sometimes less. she seems to know when she is done, and when she is still hungry.
she is loving trying our food also.
i usually mix baby food/ cereal together when i feed her though.
the consistency is easier to feed her.
