A friend of mine makes her 13 yo daughter wear a bodysuit, that undergarment that covers all your torso, back and nd breasts and clips at your crotch. The girls hates that thing, says it's uncomfortable, makes her sweat and none of her friends wear thst thing. But my friend, her mom , says it's for her best, thinks it's god for her body and especially for modesty. She says if most moms were like her, there wouldnt be so many cases of teen pregnancy. She doesnt back off, her girl tried to rebel but got punished, grounded and had to give in. I dont agree w/ my friend though I know she's sure its for her girl best. I'd like to know if this can be considered child abuse. I don't think it is, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I don't think it'd be a good idea for the girl to report her mom and I dont think she would, after all shes her mom , but Id like to know if this is illegal

It's a piece of clothing for goodness sakes. It's not child abuse! The child has nothing to report. What's the big deal? She's uncomfortable but if the Mother thinks it is aiding in the child's upbringing and it's not physically hurting her then there is certainly no crime here.

Not illegal or abusive...but she is being so strict that that daughter is going to rebel at some point. If you are her friend, I'd try and have a heart to heart with her. Tell her that she is going to lose her daughter and the daughter is embarrassed, etc. Maybe they can come to some kind of compromise...normal underwear that would cover everything, or kids today love to layer their clothes, try something like that.

Unless it is physically harming her, it isn't illegal or abuse... just very strange and overprotective. This mother is afraid to let her daughter be herself, because she thinks that the world is going to corrupt her. When this child goes to college or gets a taste of freedom, she is going to welcome the corruption with open arms. If her mother would loosen the strings a little, her daughter would grow and learn life's normal lessons and save herself a lot of grief.

It's weird, but it isn't abusive or illegal. If this girl reports her mom, the police are going to laugh at her. She should tahnk God she isn't really abused.

lmao. just because her mom has bad taste in fashion doesn't mean she's abusing her kid. She's not beating her or anything, she's just making sure her stomach isn't hanging out for the world to see. I respect her mom for making her daugther cover up!

it's not abuse but if it is making her rebel the mom should stop making her wear it as it is obviously not doing anything good for either of them!
