and I think that its starting to creep my parents out a bit.
Now don't get me wrong, I am a very nonviolent person, but theres just something so fascinating about them. I just really don't want to get stuck in counseling again . Anyways what would you do if your child had an obsession like mine?
would you be worried?

my 24 yr. old daughter lives w/me w/two of her three children. Although one of the three lives w/our cousins due to financial issues that they keep her & pay for her preschool. Almost every night gainst my voicing I don't like her going out and leaving the kids in bed although I am asleep.. she goes anyway. The oldest child knows she goes out & is loosing respect for her mother, plus my daughter has gotten drunk while out there & had to be hospitalized 3x's. She gets into destructive relationships w/men & recently got medically ill (if u know what I mean). She is quite depressed & sits home all day sleeping as the two children that can go to school do, and she has the 2.5 yr. old at home. At times I think about having her evicted, but am concerned about the well being of the kids. I've been advised to check into a temporary custody of my grans but am 52 yr. old, single and want to retire in three more yrs. I have talked to, threatened her repeatdly to no avail. Any suggestions?

Our nanny is a sweet older lady who has worked for us for almost 2 years. She has become almost like family. Unfortunately, over the last few months she seems like she has lost her ability to do her job. She leaves my son in dirty diapers, "forgets" to give him food sometimes, and pretty much just leaves him in front of the TV while she's here. I don't think she is lazy, she is just older, has health problems, and I don't think she is physically up to working anymore (though she says she's fine).

I think we need to let her go, but I feel bad because I do care about her, and she and my son are close. Also, is it terrible to let her go this close to the holidays?

I'm 20 and an adult already, but still, i'm the youngest in my family and my parents consider me a "little girl". Well I'm almost 23 wks preg and no one knows, except for 4 of my friends. I got preg from a guy I was just "getting with", who is and wont be supportive, and that no one knows him either; plus he's 11 yrs older than me. I'm in college and work part-time, but i'm still living with my parents and actually depend on them for almost everything. i always thought about having an abortion, but i knew that would be a stupid decision after all. I mean, all i have left to do is try to find a way and the right time to tell my parents about it, but its very awkward 'cause they probably think im still a virgin (my parents are mexican and very conservative). Im scared that they will find out themselves and be more mad at me, especially because i have been hiding my pregnancy but i won't be able to do that sooner or later. I also dont want to tell em anything about the father of the baby

My 2 week old does not seem to settle without something in his mouth...he tries to suck on everything to sooth himself to sleep and I hate seeing him so frustrated..breastfeeding sooths him but I cant just latch him on every time he wants to sleep, even when he is not hungry, if this were the case he would be permanently attached to me!

Is there any reason not to give him a pacifier to sooth himself to sleep? I know they say not within the first month if breastfeeding, and I am breastfeeding, but there is no nipple confusion as he also takes expressed milk from a bottle no problem..also I would not plan on allowing using a dummy to continue for long, just until he can settle himself..or does anyone else have any other ideas on how to settle him?

Which is more effective in preventing pregnancy when taken correctly: birth control pills or the birth contol patch?
Or is there a better method out there? (spermicides, sponges, the shot, etc.)

I know the only method that is 100% effective is abstinence, but unfortunatley, it's too late for that.

Thanks a ton for the answers! They are all greatly appreciated!

I'm expecting my first child in a few months. I'm starting to look for child care now. I work about 45 minutes from my home. Do you think it is better to place the child in a center close to my work or home? I live and work in really nice areas so either place will have nice day care centers.

My newborn has it all. She has more outfits then the eye can see, some shoes, booties, blankets galore. I want to get her some things for christmas but not sure what toys are suitable for a newborn. She has enough necessities so i dout i will buy her any clothing maybe 1-3 outfits at most. She has a brand new travel system, crib, pack n play, highchair. So we wont be needing any of those. She also has tons of stuffed bears and dolls. I dont want to buy 1 huge gift but rather a few small ones to put under the tree with her name on it. I dont go out much so i do most of my shopping on ebay or walmart, and somtimes the local sears or JCPennys, and even khols. Can any one give me some advice on some practical gift for my newborn? It would help so much since december 1st is right around the corner. I dont like mobiles too much so I think i'll throw them off the list. She has a new winter snowsuit. I'm just so lost and confused on what to buy her. Thanks a ton everyone! - Angel Lynn's Mommy

I am on here a lot and have made some friends and we are all great and different. I see the question a lot about "Breast or Formula" and I wonder.... Can the two get a long if they are friends? Really, lets say "X" is a great Mom who breast feeds and is very vocal about it being the only right way. Lets say "Y" is a formula feeding mother and is just fine with her chioce for whatever reason. Can they be close friends? I will tell you what I think when I select a best answer. In addition I am not trying to cause problems I am really just curious! Thanks!

Has anyone else wondered by people who leave ugly, rude comments always block their IM and emails that people cannot respond. I am above the pettiness but would sometimes like to send people an email when they have facts wrong just to educate them, along with a link to my source.

Everytime I ask a question and get one of those nasty responses or smart *** comments, it makes me appreciate my own non-judgmental, open-minded personality even more. And no, I do not judge these people, just wonder why you are nasty. That;s all.

Havea great day to all the non-nasty pregnant ladies!

I'm 31 weeks pregnant and nervous that maybe that's not the best thing to do in my last trimester...I'd ask my doc but I don't see him til Tuesday...Oh also I'm in Michigan and it's suppose to be snowing and 27 degrees tomorrow...Thanks for your input

The only slim jeans I can find start at size 6. Right now he has the ones with adjustable waistline (from Old Navy) I have to pull the straps so much that it makes the jeans bulk badly under/around the waist. He also complains that they are uncomfortable. He recenlty went from a size 4 to a size 5. The 4's weren't so bad.
any advice?
Thanks!

I was born in Canada, but I was given up for adoption shortly after. I don't have the slightest idea where I'm from, and neither does my adoptive parents.

Here I am:

Please give any opinions, I'm really quite desperate to know. I sort of feel as if I've lost part of my cultural identity, just by not knowing. I hope someone here understands exactly what it is I mean.
