and I think that its starting to creep my parents out a bit.
Now don't get me wrong, I am a very nonviolent person, but theres just something so fascinating about them. I just really don't want to get stuck in counseling again . Anyways what would you do if your child had an obsession like mine?
would you be worried?

I think I'm taking psychology next year, but I'm going to go into photography, maybe crime scene photography.

I think you should take psychology to help you understand what goes on the serial killer's and murderer's minds.
That would make your parents proud if you actually MADE something of your obsession. (and I don't mean becoming one)

You and me both. I'm majoring in psychology - and I just find the mind of a serial killer absolutely fascinating. What corrupt them enough to go and take a life? I would love to learn about Jack the Ripper's childhood. Obviously there was something out of place there.
There are so many forms of psychology that cover this, too. Last year I took a developmental course and we briefly touched on the subject on what happens in people's childhood that leads to murder and I really enjoyed those days.
At any rate, if my child had this obsession like yours and was non-violent (well - like mine, too) and it was in a psychological context - I would say "Hey - now we have something interesting to talk about at dinner!"
For the record - I am also non-violent.

I know what you are going through. I really like learning about serial killers and stuff like that. My favorite is BTK. I am also a non-violent person and I even have a hard time killing bugs. I ended up channeling my interests into my schooling. I am a Criminal Justice major with a concentration in corrections. We even had to do a report called the "Infamous Persons" paper and we all chose a different serial killer. I found out that a lot of people in my class had favorites too and had been that way since a young age.
Just as long as you don't have violence issues and keep your grades up and stuff like that, I don't see anything wrong.

OK well i don't think it's weird per-say, but yeah if my kids were fascinated with the same thing, I'm the kind of person/mother to want to get into there heads and ask questions! i don't know thats just me tho, I'm a young mother of 2 and my kids aren't over the ages of 5 BUT, i would want them to be able to come to me and say "hey mom listen to this......" whatever it may be. I have and will continue to have a an open relationship with my children. Myself, i also like to watch detective shows, and am always carious about who killed who & how on the news, and in the movies & books. I would call it, intuitive, not weird or unseteling. Now, if you wanted to go visit them in prison or write them letters or something then maybe i would get "more involved" but they shouldn't worry about you. Let kids be kids, with guidence and guidlines, you have to TRUST you kids to make the right decisions in life, and have faith that you've done the best you can do in rasing good willed muture citisims : )

I wouldn't be worried if my child was into this. I have the same exact obession as you do. There is nothing wrong with being interested in something like this, as long as you don't plan to take the form of a violent person. Stephen King for example was obssessed with this stuff when he was a child and he turned that obession into being a very successful author. I think your parents are taking it way out of context. My mom is fine with the fact that I'm obessed with this kind of thing. Just explain to them that you would never hurt anyone and this is just something you are interested in.

Nope, I went through a phase of reading absolutely everything I could find on Fred & Rosemary West, Ted Bundy, and Ed Gein. And I turned out just fine. All it means is that you have an interest in criminology and psychology - maybe you could look into pursuing one of these as a career in the future.
Edit: Then see, it's perfectly natural! You have an interest, that's all. I had an interest in art history, so I studied that. Your situation is exactly the same - we pursue what we are interested in and passionate about. Good luck with your future.

in the form you least confusing will settle for lies, then why difficulty to ask the question? I examine your question now which you will learn my respond. The do not exist. There are 4 varieties of vampire. 3 varieties are definitely, and one is fictional. the fictitious form of vampire is the count number Dracula form popularized by using human beings memories, books, fantasy magazines and flicks. this way is meant to be a reanimated corpse of anybody that has earlier been bitten by using ability of a vampire. Which begs the question, the placement did the standard vampire come from? In older human beings memories, a vampire replace into all of us who had lived an particularly wicked lifestyles, and was once cursed for their evil deeds by using being confident to the grave, and compelled to wander the earth checking out for recent blood -- in this gadget a vampire might desire to be created mutually as not having first been bitten by using yet another vampire. a cutting-edge version on the myth is that a vampire can suited be created if the guy or lady bitten additionally beverages the blood of the vampire. This looks to have not got any historical foundation in individuals techniques. L8r

Me too. I think I've read every Ted Bundy book written, lol. For myself, it's the psychology of it that fascinates me.I want to know why these people did what they did. I'm more interested in their childhood and adolescense than in details of the killings, actually. This isn't a problem at all. It's just an interesting subject.

It doesnt sound strange or weird and it wouldn't creep me out. People like you grow up to be people who work for the FBI and become investigators and what not. As long as youre not planning to kill anyone then you're just fine.
