I think you're terrible. It's more important to watch what is wrong rather than what is illegal.

If you mean a physical fight, that mainly depends on if the laws in your state provide for such an incident to be a criminal act. Many states do, but whether or not it could be considered murder or manslaughter usually depends on how far along the pregnancy was. If she was still in the early stages where miscarriages are more likely to happen, it would take a doctor's statement that the fight definitely caused the miscarriage.
This is really a question for an attorney licensed in your state, preferably with some experience in criminal defense.
(And in the event that you only mean a verbal argument, you are off the hook.)

They could press serious charges against you. They take that kind of stuff very serious now. You could possibly do jail time if they went as far as charging you with murder. I wouldn't fight her for your own sake, but for her to want to fight you she doesn't care too much about her child evidently. In this case you are going to have the be the bigger person for the sake of the unborn child. Now if she hits you first and you have plenty of witnesses I would protect myself. You may want to call the police and make a report telling you that she has threatened you and she wants to fight and she is pregnant. They will keep that on file and if something does happen it will look better on your part. You may contact human services and inform them that she is putting her unborn child at risk and they could possibly take the child away from her when it is born. Anything endangering an unborn child or a child is taken very seriously.

I take it this was a physical fight? Best thing to do and this might sound weird but look in the phone book and call a local lawyer. Tell then briefly about the fight and ask them if you could go to jail for it. It sounds stupid but hey who knows the laws best, specially in your area....Honestly thought in the first place you should of just walked away...nothing is worth the life of a child.

Yes you could go to jail if she was at least 12 weeks pregnant that is when the baby is considered by law a human life and this would be murder

physically fighting a woman that you know is pregnant is considered attempted murder if she is more than 24 weeks pregnant. However, if she attacked you first and you can prove that she could seriously hurt you then you have a good case for self-defense. Contact a lawyer NOW. Alot of them give free consultations and can tell you a lot more than I know.

pregnant women have lots of hormones and start arguments all the time. the real problem in this is that you knew she was pregnant and still had a fight with her, i don't believe men should ever hit a woman no matter what she does, there is restraining a women but not hitting her!

It depends on how far along she is. After the first trimester, or maybe its just in the third trimester, I am not sure which one - it becomes murder if you cause a woman to lose her unborn child.
By the way - just dont fight in the first place. Fighting is so stupid and such a childish thing.

I don't know the answer, but I would tell you to just walk away. Be the bigger person and not fight with a pregnant girl.

I have heard of instances of the answer being yes you can be charged. In fact, my cousin was beaten by her ex-boyfriend-the father of the baby she was pregnant with. The last tiem was terribly bad and he was to be charged for TWO counts if anythign happened to the baby. I also remember when I was pregnant with my second-only 15 weeks along-my 13 year old who was havign some emotional difficulties kicked me in teh stomach and was going to be charged if I lost him.

Why don't you just not hit her? You don't want to take the chance. If you do, and she looses the baby, you could go to jail, or the least just get into alot of trouble
