Throwing up is definitely normal during pregnancy. If it's really severe it could be something called hyperemesis and she could be in danger of dehydration. If that's the case, I would advise her to talk to her doctor. They can probably prescribe her something to help with the nausea.

I have three adult children and for NINE months, I threw up every time I ate food, smelled food, or for no reason at all; other than I was pregnant.

The doctor said this would go away when I was in the second trimester; he was wrong.

With my last child, I went to an oriental doctor, licensed to practice alternative medicine, and he gave me the most gross stuff to cook and drink for five days. After those five days of drinking this horrid mixture, the nausea went away.

Fetuses are like leches and will take the nutrients they need from the mother. The Iron vitamins made me so sick, I could not take them. The multi-vitamin made me sick and I could not take that either.

The good news is that I weighed less after giving birth, than I weighed when I was pregnant.

For some of us, pregnancy does not agree with our body and we puke our guts up.

I have three, healthy, grown children.

Unless your sister has a history of bulimia, where she eats an enormous amount of food, then binges-purges (pukes) it is perfectly normal for some pregnant women to throw up all the time.

Yes, it is very normal for most pregnant women. I only had "morning sickness" the first couple of months of each pregnancy, and usually it was just a queasy stomach. However, my daughter just had a baby, and she was sick right up until the last few weeks before giving birth. There didn't seem to be any one thing that would trigger it for her, and it happened at all different times of the day, not just the morning. I guess it affects everyone differently.

Pregnancy causes a significant shift in hormones and vomiting is normal. It becomes a problem and requires attention from a medical professional if she is unable to stay hydrated or can not keep any food down. Despite the name, "morning sickness" it can occur anytime of the day. Most women have this symptom for the first couple of months and then it disappears for the duration of the pregnancy. Some will vomit once a day for the entire pregnancy.

Yeah, very normal...my throwing up lasted through the entire pregnancy with 2 of my 3 kids, as long as she is drinking water, juice, gatorade, something to stay hydrated, that's the important thing. I had to go in for IV fluids a couple times when I started getting dizzy, and it helped alot...hard candies, popsicles, hot lemon water, spicy V8...all of those helped for me...what makes it worse is heavy foods like milk and eggs because they just sit in your stomach longer. Just tell her to eat whatever sounds good to her, whatever she can keep down...of course it is important to eat healthy but it's more important to eat foods you won't throw up. Another thing that helped me alot was vitamin B6 supplements, there are special prescription prenatal vits that have extra, or you can buy B6 over the counter. She's lucky to have you to help her, and I hope she feels better soon.

It is very normal. Tell her to nibble on some saltines before she gets out of bed. Sometimes that helps and sometimes nothing does. I was sick the whole nine months with both my girls. My son was different, only the first three months. Tell her to just make sure to stay hydrated well.

It is very normal. It's so sweet that you're worried about her. The best thing you can do for her is just be nice. I'm sure you have no problems with that one though. :)
