Whenever he wants, however long he wants. Make sure you check if he has a burp. Today my son (2 1/2 mos old) nursed for only 5 - 10 minutes a few times on one side, then for like, 20 long minutes on both. It's okay if he doesn't empy the breast everytime. If he's just had a growth spurt, you might have more milk than he needs. I just feed one side and if he doesn't want more, I start on that same side for a bit then give him the other side. I usually give him the other side when he slows down because it comes out faster and will "top him off" - it's my wish to make him last longer. :)

You should feed him on demand. If he finishes after ten minutes on each breast and wants to feed five to seven times a day, that's perfectly fine. Your supply will adjust so that he's emptying the breast after only ten minutes if he consistently nurses for that long each time.

You should feed him as often as he indicates that he's hungry (don't wait for crying - that's a late cue), and let him nurse for as long as he wants to. He doesn't need to 'empty' the breast.

As often as he wants to eat. He will stop when he is full.
