I love the name ROE for a girl. I don't know why but I just think that it is so pretty. My husband thinks it is stupid. I told him that we can use it as a middle name as Brooklyn Roe.

What do you all think???

ha,ha,ha....that is funny. I didn't know that fish eggs were Roe. No wonder my husband doesn't like it. He has a saltwater aquarium. I guess I could spell it differently!!!

Regardless of spelling, my first thoughts are fish eggs and women's rights activists (Roe v. Wade being such a familiar association).

So either way, it seems the name could easily come across as potentially ignorant, since most will assume you didn't realize the fish egg or commonly-recognized controversial abortion rights association. Short of that, most will assume you WERE familiar with those connections and used the name purposefully, perhaps as a tribute to them (either being a huge fish fanatic or outspoken women's libber, if you follow). ;)

Well it's your choice, but when I think of Roe all I can think of is fish eggs, or, Roe vs. Wade. Um sorry the final choice is yours you can neer mind me if you want. Brooklyn Roe is nice, or you can lose the "e", well congrats either way!!

NO! Your child will forever be reminded of Roe vs Wade. It's too much associated with that and that's such a controversial topic.

I actually really love it. Reminds me of the actress Rue McClanahan. I like Roe, go for it, even if it does mean fish eggs. Who's gonna know?

I think it is lovely, but be aware that Roe is the proper name of fish eggs. Sorry. I just think of how cruel some people are about some things.....

Roe is actually a nickname for Rosemary.. and that would sound nice.

I like Brooklyn Rose . Kinda catchy too.

The first thing I thought of was fish eggs too.

Be careful what spelling you use b/c rue is a mixture of flour and fat used in foods such as stew.

I don't think it is a very good name. First of all, that is what fish eggs are called. Second of all, that was the plaintiff's pseudonym in the abortion rights case of the 1970's. I'm not sure what your opinion on abortion is, but it might not be a nice connotation for your child's name.
