Sperm usually lives about 48 hours. Some may live a little longer but no one really knows how long. It's the sperm the fertilized the egg that "counts." Sperm takes about 90 days to mature in a man. Increase in ejaculation decreases the sperm and some may not be mature enough to "swim" to their goal. Hope this helps.

Our doctor said it can last up to 5-7 days depending on its environment (female reproductive tract beyond the cervix). If in other environments (eg: vagina) then it lives only a few hours. So, as lons as the sperm is beyond the cervix, fertilization can occur at any time live sperm meets up with a live egg. This can happen even if the sperm is deposited 5-7 days before ovulation.

Sperm have the durability and energy to live in the uterus for 24-72 hours at the most. After that they can no longer sustain life. They live this long o ensure a better chance of fertilization.

Sperm can live up to five days in your body, although those would be quite tenacious sperm. Most live between one and three days, but hey-- don't take chances. ;)
