For those of you who have had children or currently pregnant, how long did it take you to conceive?

My baby sister is visiting from Virginia for our sister's wedding. I have not got to spend a lot of time with her because I have been working so much. She and I have always been very close and we adore each other. Today at our sister's wedding rehersal she started crying because my uncle made a skinny joke at her. She is 3 months pregnant and apparently very sensitive. I put my arm around her and walked her through the courtyard to comfort her. Then all of a sudden she turned on me. She said that I said, "You need to eat, B****!" I told her I did not say that and she insisted that I did. She said she used to worship the ground I walked on and now she doesn't know why she ever did. She said alot of hurtful things to me. I left the wedding rehersal so that we didn't cause a stink in front of our other sister's guests. I am so crushed by the things she said. I know she is hormonal.... I've been there, but what's up with her hearing things that were not said?

This situation with that precious baby Madison that has had trauma inflicted on her in such a manner that will haunt her for the rest of her life has made me re-animent about what I have always believed:

Any person who is sick enough to rape a child under ten years old should face a mandatory sentence of death.

When something like that happens to a child, you are murdering their ability to have a happy, normal, productive life.

I am sorry if any of yall dont agree with the death penalty but I am going to say this:

If anyone did that to my child, they wont have to worry about the police.

Because the police wont find their body.

and Im talking permanent such as having your "tubes tied"... please respond! I am 24......and right now feel that if I ever have a child... I would like to adopt. I am very comfortable in my relationship with my boyfriend of whom I have been with for 4 years. We see ourselves being married within 2 years. This is more of a personal decision.....Do you think I am too young to make such a permanent decision???? Will I change my mind when I am 27 or 32? Please give me your feedback along with any questions/concerns/opinions! I am very excited to see how you respond. Thanks! Sandra

I would like to know when did you start feeding your infant/s? My daughter is 3 months old and I would like to start feeding her at 6 months, but many people are telling me to start now or at 4 months. She is a breastfed baby and a healthy weight, and is happy, which to me should be fine untill she is 6 months old. What do you think? Thank you all in advance...also what did you feed your infant/s? More and more people seems to be going orgnanic and homemade, whats your view?

So, my nephew is 3 1/2 years old. His parent started potty training him like 2 months before he turned 3. One reason why he isn't potty trained is because of the trial and error over their house. They put him on the potty once a day and only do it a few days out of the week. My nephew is VERY stubborn, and will not even attempt to potty train. I try to encourage him and tell him he'll get Thomas stickers for going on the potty because he absolutely loves Thomas. Then 5 minutes later he will purposely poop in his diaper and tell me he did it and laugh. I tell him he's not supposed to poop his pants and he just laughs and says he pooped his pants. I put him on the potty all the time and he just sits there, then he'll go in his diaper right after he gets off. I am very involved with my nephew and want to get this process moving around. What can I do? I know you're not supposed to rush children into potty training but at 3 1/2, this is just ridiculous.

My son is almost six months old. He will be in like ten days or so... He is very clingy and freaks out whenever I walk out of the room. He doesn't want to be held all of the time, he just wants to see me in his view. He is my first child and I'm not sure if he is spoiled or just a mama's boy. I am a single parent, but the father and I still talk and he sees his daddy a lot, but he still wants me all of the time. Even when he is with his father. Today, for instance, his father watched the baby while I ran to the store and when I came back, the baby started crying because I walked passed him even though he was in his father's arms. What does this mean. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal for single parents and their children? I'm not trying to break the strong bond between us, I just need to know if he is spoiled or anything. And if he isn't, what is some advice on how to not spoil him? If that makes any sense. Haha Thanks In Advance!

My 14 year old son goes to an all boys private school; they have an all girls "sister" school. This weekend is homecoming at son's school, and he has asked 14 year old girl to the dance. This is his first "date" (he's a bit of a nerd), whole family is excited. I discovered via reading his email tongiht (don't kvetch about that!) that the girls told him to a) pick her up at a friend's house because she's getting ready there and b) don't call her on her house phone but her cell phone so she won't be home.

My sons' father was planning on picking the kids up, taking them to the dance, then home. But it sounds to me like this girl may not have told her parents, and may be hiding something.

Or am I paranoid? What would you do? (No, we don't know the parents....but the kids at these two schools interact all the time, and this girl is always at all the activities with ther friends.)

The one thing my son told me about this girls was that "her parents are really really strict."

My year old daughter loves to sit in my lap, but when she does, all she wants to do is scratch my eyes, pull my lips and pinch. I say "no" sternly, like I do when she does something she is not supposed to do. I have tried grabbing her hands and making eye contact and saying no. I have even tried a little smack on the hand (which I hate doing, and will not be doing again). It seems stupid to teach not to hurt by hurting. Any suggestions?

She says no to everything. Is only nice if you're nice to her.

And worse part is, she gets mad over everything! I mean, everything! She takes everything out of context. A teacher who she likes asks her to go to class and she gives that teacher dirty looks, etc

What should I do?

Ok this question is for the doctors or some one who has had this same problem. When i was pregnant 2 years ago with my son, everything was going good until i was 8 months. One night i had EXTREME pain in the stomach area but i thought it was constapation so i ignored it (stupid me). The next morning the pain was so bad i could hardly walk. I then threw up. I then went to the hospital with my mom where in a matter of 5 minutes they were rushing me too the operating room.I was put to sleep and when i woke up my son was born....So in short. Does any one know what was wrong with me? I had severe stomach pain, I was not bleeding but the doctor said i was bleeding internally, and this was my second c-section. The doctor didnt know if i was gonna make it. I dont know what it was. All i know is it had some thing to do with my placenta. SO DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT PLACENTA PROBLEM I COULD HAVE HAD THAT CAUSES STOMACH PAIN, INTERNAL BLEEDING, AND NO BLEEDING PRIOR TO THAT INCIDENT???? please help

My grandmother Mary died a few years ago and I was very close to her. Even though she couldn't see her granddaughter, I want to honor her by naming my firstborn after her.

Mary admittedly is a bit plain, and I have little imagination, so I wondered if anyone had some inventive variations of the name Mary, or with Mary in it (like Rosemary)?

I'm a little bit of a health freak with my baby and have been told by several naturopaths that rice milk is better for kids than cows milk. However rice milk only has 1% fat so I'm not sure that it has enough fat for her development cos elsewhere I've heard they need full fat til 2 years old. Any thoughts please???

This week a daycare was temporarily shut down because one of the workers was taping a 2 month olds pacifer to his mouth to make him stop crying. Here is a clip of the news article about it.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Human Services says a 4-month-old boy was found in a darkened room in a Jefferson City nursery with a pacifier taping his mouth shut.

Department spokeswoman Michelle Mowery Johnson says the department responded Tuesday to an anonymous complaint that a caregiver in Jefferson City was taping babies’ mouths shut.

An investigator heard muffled whining from the bathroom. The boy’s mouth was taped with two-inch clear packing tape.

The nursery was closed today. It will be served with a suspension order from DHS and a hearing is set for Thursday before an administrative judge.

More details as they develop online and in Thursday’s News Sentinel.

What do you all think about this?

Me and my husband are having a baby boy and we are disagreeing on circumcision. My husband is not circumcised so he believes that the baby shouldn't be. Me on the other hand believes that we should circumcise the baby. Should we do it or not. Also are the percentage of circumcised men greater then uncircumcised.
