I don't want a text book answer. I want an answer from people who have been in labor before. Do real contractions always have to start from the back and go to the front or can they just be in the front lower area? If so, what lower area are they most prominent in (near the pelvic bone, above it, ect?) Please help. Do real contractions always have to be incredibly painful? I've been having a sore lower back and feeling a very intense tightening sensation near the pelvic bone region plus a little bit of pain down there. Please help me. Thank you in advance. My due date is the 29th btw.

when my son (9yrs.) is told "no" or asked to do something, like bursh his teeth, take his shoes to his room, do his homework etc., he explodes. He'll start crying, if he has something in his hand he'll throw it, or he'll push something onto the floor. I have tried a reward system and have taken privledges away, but he continues to act like that. I am at a loss on what else I could do. Please I need some advice!

Do you like the name Gracia for a girl? My sister said she saw it on the "up and coming" name list, and I thought it sounded pretty and elegant. I thought I could call her Graci for short. Gracia means "grace" in Spanish. What do you think of the name?

I'm not going to name kid either of these so don't flip out and tell me I'll give her a complex. Also, don't diss the spelling. It's the original Gaelic spelling and I like it that way. I just want some opinions on them, please and thank you.

Caoimhe Méabh (pr. Kee-vah Mave)

Caolaidhe Niamh (pr. Kal-ee Neev)

I am a mother of 3 kids ages 3,6,and 9. THe middle child has just started full time school and the baby goes to preschool. We have renovated our house. I can't work, since daycare costs are so high. I am bored and need a change. Maybe another child, maybe we should move and renovate again. Lived in this city for 1 year. Don't have any good friends to fill my day (along with all the housework and time it takes to do all my stuff!) What do you think?

Spence-Chapin handled my adoption and i have tried every site that people have told me and im just not getting anywhere on finding my birth mother and i really need to find her because i want to know if there are health problems that i need to know about. I have 3 sons that she should know about. i have posted on every site that i know of i have done the registrys and im just about fed up and i have the right to know who my birth mother is. so if anyone knows of a female that was born 1958 and is puerto rican and gave birth to a boy on may 18 1974 and gave him up for adoption at spence-chapin please provide me info

Girls Name (2 year old daughter) - Mikaylee Shay
Always loved the name "Mikayla" but its too common. So I added Lee at the end which is my grandfathers middle name & Shay is my sisters name (Shaylin).

Boy Name (unborn) - Maddrick Shane Julius

We wanted to keep the first letter "M" like Mikaylee's. "Adrick" is my boyfriends name. Shane is my brothers name. Julius is my boyfriends brother.

Both names have meanings. Thats most important to me. Any other suggestions? Maybe incorporating these names together into something new?? I like unique too :) Thank you for anybody who responds!

I don't usually comment, just read. I'm trying to understand the issues better but I guess I am still uneducated enough to be confused. A lot of the comments make me feel like I'm doing something wrong?

My husband and I are foster parents, the infant that is currently in our care has been with us since birth and will soon be up for adoption. We will be adopting him, simple as that. His mother (as much as she loves him) is mildly mentally retarded and it has been proven that she is incapable of caring for him, even with all the support the world has to offer. She seems to understand that we will be adopting him and it doesn't seem to bother her one bit, she even calls me his mom.

Adopting him seems very natural and uncomplicated to us but reading all of the terrible things being said on here about adoptions I am begining to think otherwise. I guess my question is to the people that feel adoption is wrong or are bitter about their own, what can I do to make this situation work?

What are your HONEST opinion on the name...

Alana Simone Carter?

I was going to give her my moms name as her middle name but my mom name is Joanna and Alana Joanna has too many "ana's". So instead, My mom has free range (well kind of, she has some major restrictions because I've seen her prior naming work, she named my sisters and I and she gives out ghetto names) of the middle name.

She decided on Alana Simone. I like it...Simone seems like the perfect middle name to me. To me It goes with everything like Rose, Ann, and Nicole.

Whats your opinion?

I am 28 wks pregnant with my second child. In my first pregnancy, I was never successful at breastfeeding - he had complications that prevented him for doing it right away and after using a bottle for a while, we could never get the hang of it. I pumped milk for 6 weeks and gave that to my child, but that was all I could do.

This time, I want to be able to breatfeed. I feel a little guilty that I might be giving one child something better than I gave the other. Has anyone felt that way? How did you overcome it?

I feel like a beginner and don't have clue as to what it will be like and how to get through the hard part. Any personal experiences or any advice?
