I am a mother of 3 kids ages 3,6,and 9. THe middle child has just started full time school and the baby goes to preschool. We have renovated our house. I can't work, since daycare costs are so high. I am bored and need a change. Maybe another child, maybe we should move and renovate again. Lived in this city for 1 year. Don't have any good friends to fill my day (along with all the housework and time it takes to do all my stuff!) What do you think?

Find a hobby or something that interests you, that you can do in what spare time you have. Like, learning to sew or scrapbook or other crafts, or get a book and a telescope and study astronomy on your own, or bird-watching, or gardening, or drawing, or a musical instrument, or a foreign language, or any interesting and challenging topic you could become expert on with practice on your own time. Also maybe you could consider getting a pet.

Remember, in olden days women of upper classes studied many of these things, which filled their time and helped make them more cultured.

Daycare costs are outrageous, especially for three. I need the mental break from my kids and I need social interactions with adults so I choose to work and pay the cost. It's hard though to have a good balance. If you can wait it out until the kids are all in full day school, maybe you could get a job with hours that are similar to their schedule.

Volunteering is another option. When my son was small and in daycare, I'd occasionally take an afternoon off to read to his class or help with arts and crafts, etc. I'm sure they'd love volunteers in your kids rooms.

meet some of the parents at the pre-school. And sure you can get some kind of a job while the youngest is in school, it will help pay for that pre-school. What are your interest? You like designing home? Get a job with an interior designer or contracting company that builds homes. My aunt is on the design team for Creaton Homes and they have models of homes that people look at and are then able to tweak the model for their needs. She works part time and gets to design homes for people, she loves it! You don't have to have a paying job, but there are plenty of part time/volunteer activities. Become a CASA volunteer since you love children so much. You could help children in the foster care system. I did it while i was in college and love it so much, it was so rewarding and you do really make a difference. You will make friends while doing these things. Don't drag your kids around just because you are board. There are so many charities out there worthy of your support and time!

take up a new hobby, make an effort to find some new friends. Sign up for a class while the little one is in preschool; like yoga, cooking, jewellery-making -whatever interests you. Start a home-based business like Avon, Mary Kay, Tupperware, Discovery Toys, or even something sexy like Fantasia (sex toys, lingerie and stuff).
If you want to have another baby, that's great, but I wouldn't recommend doing it because you're bored LOL!

Volunteer at your little one's school. It's really a lot of fun and a great way for you to meet some other Mom's that also want to fill their day.
