In my opinion, if you kill a man, he'll never learn anything. I personally think the rape of a child should carry a sentence of mandatory castration, and life in a mental institution without a chance of release.
In Sicily, a rapist is simply turned over to the women of the villiage. There is usually little recognisable left when they are done.

I agree 100%. However, I disagree with lumping sexual battery in with rape, and making a uniform penalty, regardless of circumstances. That takes the Judges discretion out of the picture, and in certain cases, is very unfair. This wasn't a child under ten, and was consentual, even though the law doesn't aknowledge it. My wife's brother just got sentenced to life with no parole. There is a time and place for the death sentence, indeed. There is also a need for a Judge to have the power to sentence, based on the situation. If someone came into my house and raped my child, he would be lucky to ever get to trial. But there are other situations, that while not right, don't deserve a mandatory life sentence.

I am right with you! if anyone ever touches my nephew or my children (when I have them). THEY'RE DEAD.
I was abused as a child by my cousin numerous times and for years. it started at 7 and now at 20 I'm finally starting to tell people but not many.
I was almost raped by a trusted friend in high school but my cell phone scared him and I was able to kick him and get away.
Rapists are attracted to me apparently.
I completely agree with you. I had my innocence stolen and that's something I can never get back. Even to this day sometimes I can't make love because I get flash backs. Also I am scared that it may have made me infertile, messed me up somehow because I was so young and that's just not suppose to happen so young and I've had vagina issues for years.
So the side effects of rape may not just be psychological but physical as well.
I really wish I had to guts to tell the family what was really going on, but it would break my parents and grandparents hearts to know it happened with them in the same house. Plus the guy gets away with everything- he can do no wrong apparently.
But again, if my dad knew- the guy would be buried up north never to be found.
It has ruined a huge part of my life. I'm trying to work past it and I will be getting auditing soon to help the process but no matter how much help you get- you have no choice but to live with what happened to you. it NEVER goes away. No matter how happy I am, I'm still sad and heart broken that someone would do such a thing to me.
1 in every 4 girls will be raped in a lifetime, it breaks my heart.
The one thing I've learned is when a girl says she was raped- it doesn't matter if she's a drama queen trying to get attention all the time or not- BELIEVE HER and help her.

I totally agree with you, but I do wonder why you choose to draw the line at 10 years old.
Isn't raping a 12-year-old as bad as raping a 10-year-old?
Isn't raping a 22-year-old as bad as raping a 12-year-old?
Rape is a horrible (and hard to stop) way of taking advantage of someone..however, in most cases it is because the victim simply isn't strong enough to drive off her attacker.
But I completely agree that rape deserves the death penalty. And I do agree that raping a child is worse than raping an adult, because whereas an adult already knows that the world is a flawed, unsafe and untrustworthy place, children are innocent and rely on adults to care for and nurture them, not brutally assault them. I just have a hard time drawing a line at an age where it becomes "less bad" than raping a smaller child.

Prisoners escape or get parole.
The only argument against the death penalty I have in this instance is: what if the judge and jury made a mistake, and the guy convicted isn't the real rapist? It would be just as bad to murder an innocent man as the original crime.
But yes, people who rape children shouldn't get a second chance. It's too bad they don't all get struck by lightening.

I am with you on that one. The United States needs to put the sorry a-- people to death that would even lift a finger to hurt a child in such a manner. That is what is wrong with the US a little slap on the hand and there they are teaching at a school of potential victims or working in a daycare center. Put them to death and be done with them maybe they will get the message.

I don't think they deserve the death penalty. Instead, they should be castrated and have their fingers chopped off so they can no longer try to shove anything into another child. I've heard stories of some countries where men rape infants because they believe that intercourse with virgins will cure them or AIDs. It's just sick and disgusting.

I don't believe in the death penalty... But I do think any man who rapes a child should get a much more severe punishment (like jail for life, have their penis & balls cut off... stuff that'd make them maybe think twice)
I was raped when I was 16, and if I had the opertunity to make them pay for it however I wanted, I wouldnt kill them, but they would lose certain body parts (as mentioned above) in the sickest most painful way possible...

I think the crime should fit the punishment and in most cases death is the easy way out. I am not opposed to the death penalty even the Bible says an eye for an eye, but like I said death is too easy, they should be tortured daily! Oh but I am with you on the whole not worrying about the cops thing I would kill him then spend every day in jail with a grin on my face.

Personally I think for anyone who rapes anyone of ANY AGE...should be castrated..Killing there no good sorry dysfunctional A-s-s is to good.
I disagree Wolf, as a victim of rape, I wouldn't care if the man (term used loosely here) who raped me was raped everyday in prison for the rest of his life, just so he would know the pain and humilation I felt. Death is to good for these monsters they should suffer.
