What do you think of it? The more I hear it, the more I fall in love with it ... it's a little odd, and I kind of had to wrap myself around the spelling, but It's got the beautiful romeo and juliet-esq namesake.

So, what do you think of the name Deirdre? What kind of girl do you picture it on?

Also, I think I like the pronunciation dare-dra best, but It can be pronounced dare-dree, deer-dra, deer-dree, deh-ee-dra, deh-ee-dree, and I'm sure that there are plenty of other ways that people pronounce it that I just dont know about it. Which pronunciation do you like best?

My son is 2 1/2 and MUST sit in the shopping cart. He will not walk nicely and hold your hand. Instead, he'll race down an aisle, grabbing things off the shelves and crashing into people. So of course with a screeching and thrashing toddler I get plenty of stares. Then sometimes my son gets to the point where he begins to dry heave from so much forceful crying. So I cut my shopping short, and whatever I had in my cart I went right to the check out line. While in line he calmed down, I rubbed his back, wiped the snots and tears away, gave him some water. But of course it's so humiliating in public with all the stares at you. For everyone's safety, he is in the cart and I try to say this loudly enough so others can hear.

How do some of you deal with this?

Which would you choose between these two names...
Olivia Jayne Horlacher and Sophia Jayne Horlacher? Horlacher is pronounced (Hor-lock-er)
Siblings are Celeste Dianne, Adrienne Joy, and Lily Elizabeth.
If we use Sophia her nickname will be Sophie, but for Olivia I have no idea of a nickname...I think Liv or Livy sounds too close to Lily (nickname Lil).

Hey ladies, I am currently 40 weeks pregnant as of today! My due date and still no baby :( I went to the doc last week. I was 2 cm dialated, 80% effaced, and the doctor stripped my membranes. 4 hours later I lost my mucous plug. I have been having strong but not consistent contractions for the last few days. This morning I woke up with a bloody brown discharge(no odor), and I have been having it in small amounts all day. Contractions are still pretty strong, but they aren't coming consistantly. Yesterday and today I have been having loose stools as well. The last hour I have been having lower back pain and gassy like cramping allll over. I called my doctor and she told me that when I am having contractions 5-7 minuets apart then go to the hospital! The problem is...I am not sure if these are contractions or not! Ahhhh, Any advice??? What was everyone elses labor symptoms?

I've heard numerous ages from as early as 15, to as late as 19-20. Obviously, something like this is hard to estimate, as the nature of the question is open to a lot of lying and exageration.

So, in your opinion, what's the average age?

Thanks

when we confronted him, he continuously denied it. it was in the history, it was on the pc this a.m. when my husband came to the computer. but with him lying, we are feeling unsure and guilty about punishing him. what are your thoughts? how do we know for sure he is telling the truth?

I recently saw a mother breastfeeding her son - who seriously had to be about 5. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for breastfeeding, but at what age would it start to become inappropriate or even illegal?

If your close friend asked you to babysit her children how much would you charge? Flat fee or hourly per child? The situation is that her husband is in the military and is gone for a month. She goes to school on the weekend and needs a babysitter for Friday night 6-9:30, Saturday from 9-5 and Sunday afternoon from 1-4. How much would you charge? These are kids that are well behaved and whom you like and their house is next door to yours.

What do you think about calling a grandmother "Grammi" sp? Boy is 6. She claims it is very common in some country? I think it sounds like baby talk. How old is to old to use this term?

The night before last, I woke up about 1:30 am to use the bathroom, but when I wiped, there was blood on the tissue, It didn't last long, only one time when I used the restroom, and there were no cramps, but it still scared me, because I am really stressed out over my husband lying to me about looking at porn, what harm can spotting do to the baby? And should I take it as a sign of a future miscarrage? How do I keep from stressing so bad, when all I do is dwell on the fact that 1) my husband looks at porn, 2) he lies about it, and hides it. What causes spotting? And should I be worried?

I've heard that when you go into labor, and you are in the pushing stage, that a majority of women "poop" while this goes on. Does this really happen to most women? This is my first child, and im 5 months pregnant... but i would rather go through the pain of a C-Section, then poop in front of everyone. This may sound immature, but come on people!

last week my MIL and i got into an argument. me and her do not get along at all. she hates me and my daughter (from previous relationship). she says she hates me cause i lied to her. me and my husband are seperated at the moment for certain issues , but thankfully we are working things out. i was suppose to move back into my home last month, but my husband did not pay the rent, to get back at me for leaving, so we got evicted, there for i had no place to go. i told my MIL that i was moving back and having the baby over there back in June. (i moved 7 hours away after the seperation)
okay i lost my home there for i had no place to live so me and my husband decided that i stay here and he would move over here. when i tried to explain that to my MIL she said that wasnt her problem and the fact was that i lied to her and she will hate me for it.
Well during this fight she told me that it was my fault that i got pregnant ( you know since only women are involved in conceiving)...CONT..
