I've heard numerous ages from as early as 15, to as late as 19-20. Obviously, something like this is hard to estimate, as the nature of the question is open to a lot of lying and exageration.

So, in your opinion, what's the average age?

Thanks

Well, the average age I would guess at about 16 and maybe 17 tops. The reason why is that I when I was in high school 10 years ago I knew a lot who lost virginity at 15 or 16, or even before. the vast majority lost virginity by the end of high school, and then I imagine that many lose it the first week or two of college, when they are 18. A low percentage of people lose it after 19 or 20 but its such a small percentage that it doesn't affect the average by a great deal. I would imagine that the mean age, which is different than the average, would be similar too.

i was 15 but I wish I had waited until I was older. Most of the people I know lost it at 15 or 16 so I think 15 or 16 is the average age

I would say on average 15.

I have heard of as young as 10 & 11 losing their virginity. Some people never do. Some wait for marriage. Just depends on the person.

17/18... Although there was a study done in NY and the average age was around 15... but I think it's actually higher than that in the US and especially around the world.

well, let's see, when i was in school, we had the 'sex-ed' class at the end of 6th grade(when we were 12) by 9th grade alot of kids were having sex, even more so by the end of 12th grade. so the answer for oakland county in michigan(from 1982-1988) is 12 to 18. (several couples were in too much of a hurry to try sex, and ended up with a kid after their first partner, a few have been parents since they were 13!)
