Yes this happens sometimes. You'll be too busy at that moment to worry about it. They may offer you an enema if your that worried. Frankly that's worse than going on accident. When you begin the pushing stage you will have to push like your gonna poop. That is the correct way to push.So the pressure of the baby coming out will make you feel like you have to go.Chances are you don't and won't.
I did not poop, but I threw up a few times while having hard contractions. That is also normal.
My suggestion focus on pain relieving measures and breathing and all else will not even matter!

When you are giving birth the last thing you are going to think about is pooping!! If you have an epideral you wont feel anything below your waist so you wont even know what is happening. I was in labor for 26 hours and finally ended up having a c-section It wasnt that painful but it was my 1st child and I have to say that I was so scared I could have cared less about anything else. Good luck and trust me when the time comes you wont care youll just be happy to have your child come into this world Good Luck

I've been thru 2 pregnancies & yes with my 2nd, I did end up having an "accident" while pushing... this is natural.... you have all that pressure pushing (and of course the baby trying to push his/her way out)... what can you expect.. ??? I thought it would be EXTREMEMLY embarassing, but, to be honest, you can't even tell the difference... (the baby's trying to come out at the same time, so even if you didn't poop, it'll feel like you did) ..... as for everyone else that was in the room, they were more concerned about me pushing, then to worry about that....
c-section.... never had it done, never want it.... heard TOO many bad stories... after birth pain....
hope this helps.. best of luck.....

It's not that most women poop during pushing...but it is a normal occurrence. Most of the time your body has long taken care of that. Typically the body clears itself out earlier in labour. Expect to spend some time in the bathroom then.
If you poop in front of everyone, the only one who would be embarassed is you...the dr's and nurses are very used to it.
When you push, you don't push as if you're squeezing your stomach muscles...you push like you're making a bowel movement, right through your bum. A poop during labour is very normal, but your body's usually long empty of poop by then!!! It's the hemorroids that linger long after that will bother you much more than any poop during labour will!

It happens like 50% of the time. Usually, you won't even know that you pooped and the nurses are so careful not to upset you they just wipe it away. Trust me, if you think something like squeezing out a little poop is a big deal, wait til you find out all the joys that go with Csections and recovery. That's a major surgery because you are too embarrassed? Please child! It's not just immature to want a csection so someone doesn't see you poop it's just really uneducated.

Yes it can happen - it does happen alot - but not to everyone
Good news is unless your husband is a jerk and tells you about it..you will never know...
The doctors and nurses see it all the time its from the pressure of pushing a baby out..
If you are really that worried talk to your doctor about an enema..you take it once your labor is confirmed..cleans you right out - no poop during your delivery...
Try not to be embarrassed it is part of what happens during child birth

I don't think it happens to most women but it does happen to some. I was also scared of this so I made sure to go to the bathroom first, especially cuz i had just ate dinner before i went into labor. Some doctors will tell you not to so i would just say i need to go pee. its ok as long as you dont push!

It is very common, and honestly no one even notices because everyone is so focused on the baby. I was like you and very scared it was gonna happen, well, it did, but no one said a thing about it and they cover it up while your pushing, so don't worry it will be fine, just enjoy labor!

Sure it can happen. In fact much of the pushing you do to poo is the same type of pushing you do in labor. Just make sure you go before labor and lay off the foods full of fiber. it doesn't happen to all but you won't be the 1st your Dr has seen or the last.

If you are going to have a vaginal birth, your doctor will probably offer you an ennema. If the doc doesn't, you can ask for one. The ennema clears the colon allowing the pressure from the baby to press into the colon without pooing. If the colon is empty, there's nothing to come out! Simple as that.
