There are two ways to answer your question.

1, You're a victim of your parent's selfishness. You are like a dog that's been dumped now that it's not a cute puppy any more and now you have to forage for scraps of garbage. Surely you have a right to be mollycoddled for the rest of your life just as any child you choose to bring into this world has a right to expect the same from you.

2, Identify what you are good at. Work hard to develop your talents and skills. If you don't want a mortgage then rent but there will come a time when rent costs will overtake mortgage costs (my mortgage is £153 per month on a 3 bedroom house in the Home Counties). You struggle for a few years, then everything gets easier until one day you realise that you have accumulated more wealth than your parents. Funny thing life.

What the feck are you on about?

I got f-all from my parents!!! I have a child and I rent a flat. Why the hell do you *have* to have a mortgage? It's pointless in today's climate - it's simply not worth it. And by the time my girl leaves home I'll be 44 - which is not over the hill at all!

You must be a teenager or something...or ridiculously spoiled. Try getting out in the real world, sunshine!!

Humans are made to work hard. If you sit on your ****, your body will reject your lifestyle by making you feel miserable. Most of the happiest people are those who lead a life of work.

Do the right things for the right reasons and it will all come together, even if its bumpy at the beginning.

Besides, if you don't have kids... who will take care of you when you're too old to take care of yourself? A state funded nursing home? Good luck getting quality care from somebody who gives a hoot there.

Your parents don't owe you a dime once you are 18. You are a fortunate person if they have enough money to last them until they pass on. You choose to have children. If they are such a heavy burden, get snipped now.

Yeah. Stop complaining and embrace life. Gotta enjoy the journey or you simply won't ever find happiness.

There is no challenge that is insurmountable, and joy is in the doing and the living.

Yes i agree. I, unfortunately, did not receive a flat from my parents and am now trying to pay a rent of £500 a month from a wage of £650 a month.

Well, I wasn't 'spoilt' by my parents, and have worked bloody damn hard for everything I have. I am so happy with life that I wouldn't want it any other way!
