Okay, so my daughter's already 8 months old and I've just realized I may have made a mistake on her name. I named her Isabella Evangeline. At first it was a goofy idea, but then my husband insisted on it, after I changed my mind to Isabella Katherine. NEWays, There are TONS of Isabella in her generation and I don't want her to be know as Isabella M., like all the Ashley H.'s I went to school with. What would be a good nickname to send her to school with. I was thinking of using Evie from her middle name... Any other suggestions?

My husband's cousin named their baby Jack, but I would like to name our baby Jackson, if it is a boy. We probably wouldn't call him Jack for short. We rarely see the cousin and his family, maybe only once a year. They would also have different last names. Is that copying too much? Would you be offended if you were the cousin?

When my husbands ex found out she was pregnant again with child #3 (only the 1st child being his ) she wanted their son to come and live with us. We had written and notarized a agreement with BM that we would take care of him. When he came to us he was in the 5th grade, now he's entering High school and now she wants to take him back..... She's been secretly telling him that after Jr High school he would be coming back to live with her. - That was never discussed with us & we would have never agreed to him staying with us if it was gonna be for only 3 or 4 yrs. In my husbands own words "I would have rather paid child support than to let him be here for such a short time" I tend to agree with him because my Step Son should not be treated like a disposable item. and then retrieved when ever the notion hits. My SS really loves his mother and his other siblings as they see each other regularly and since our school is a track system, he goes to his BM's every summer.

I know everyone has an opinion on this, I just wanted to see where the majority stands these days.

(Looking for ages please, not explanations like 'if they're not financially ready they're too young' or anything like that, just anumber please!)

In case anyone's wondering, I'm 19, and I had my daughter when I was 19 as well.

Thanks!

i am 34 weeks pregnant, and I am always paranoid that I will somehow squish my baby, like earlier today I was cutting my toenails, obviously very hard to bend over and do that....afterward I was scared that I may have hurt the baby...is this possible? I mean is there anyway to squash the baby during pregnancy??

After taking care of my Step Son for over 12yrs...He's 14 now - His BM fought us in court for Full Custody & lost. We have always willing taken care of his needs with no help. She now wants to give him money (about $50) everytime he goes to see her. I told my SS that I was not comfortable with him taking large amounts of money to school every day. So what ever she gives him - I put it in an envolope and he signs off on a sheet a paper with a running tally of the remaining balance. I'm doing this because I don't want her to every say or think that we in any way is spending the money she gives him. I'm sure she's gonna ask him how or who spent his money. Trust me the small amount she gives him will doesnt even put a dent in his expenses. But I want him to feel good about what she's trying to do- but I want him to be able to say with confidence that he has spent his own money.
Am I being Petty...???

We have a Colin in our family - everyone calls him Luther.
You might wonder why...but Luther really fits for him. He was named after a rap singer by his friends in the military. It stuck.

Just a little background info –
-My daughter’s grade is 4th
-She attends a Catholic School
-Age range in the class is 8-10
-Teacher is in her 60s and female
-I nor any of my family is Catholic but send our daughter to this school for her best change of a good education

Here is the question. My daughter came home yesterday and let me know that here teacher was discussing the “chosen ones” vs. the “Jews” in some type of scripture reference. She then proceeded to draw out a graphic version of a penis on the chalkboard (hair and all). Then she explained how the “chosen ones” at a young age were circumcised then she erased the hair to simulate a young mans penis, then erased the top of the penis and said that is circumcision.
I’m I overreacting or should I have a conference with the teacher and raise some hell

i am 40 weeks pregnant (my baby is due TODAY, though she doesn't seem ready to make her appearance!) and i have been agonizing over who will accompany me in the birth room when i have her. of course, her daddy will be there 100%, but my mother and sister-in-law are insistant on being there too. i am a pretty private person and even having my hubby in there is freaking me out- let alone my nosy, loud and obnoxious mother (love her to death, but she is loud and a crybaby- don't know how i will handle that on my nerves!) i really wanted this to be an intimate personal experience with my hubby- didn't picture my mom staring at my crotch the whole time! i feel so bad, though- i know if i tell her it would break her heart! what should i do?????
