Well I am around his age and here are some things I would like..
Sports Tickets...
Best Buy or CIrcuit city or who ever.( The only way a gift card is good is if it has enough money on it )
I love getting cash..I know not personal.
Power tools
GPS unit..this way he never gets lost..
A Playstation 3..if he all ready has..then buy games for it..
Buy him a year of net flicks..thats a cool idea.
Good luck and I am sure he will love what ever you get him..
I would just like a phone call from my Moms...

Definately cash or a gift card. But if you also want to do something more personal, maybe you can put together a photo album using pictures and scrapbook materials. Let it be from birth until now. Include some old pictures he drew as a child and write comments. That would be really nice. I hope this helped.

Does he have an Ipod? Get him a gift certificate for the Itunes store or you can get him Ipod accessories.
If he really is into music/electronics get him the Ipod Touch. http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/
If 300 is 2 pricy you can get him either Ipod Shuffle $79.00 1gb 240 songs or Ipod Nanno witch come in the following:
4GB Up to 1,000 songs, up to 3,500 photos, up to 4 hours of video, or some of each
8GB Up to 2,000 songs, up to 7,000 photos, up to 8 hours of video, or some of each Starting at $149
I think Ipod is good for any age. Does your son work out or go jogging/walking? Does he take public transportation 2/from work? Ipod would be perfect. He can even listen to it in his car. Instead of having a million cd's in his car and looking for the one he wants 2 play all he has 2 do is put in the ipod and look on it 4 the song he wants.

Hi Street!
My son is about his age. Most men enjoy going to some sort of sporting event (for mine it's football). I bought him 2 good seat tickets to the local NFL game. He loved it!
Also, to embarass the heck out of him and give him a good laugh, post a picture of him when he was little in his local paper to wish him a happy b-day. My son cut it out and treasures it.
Hope this helps.

Depending on where he is in TX, there may be a Roy's restaurant. If you could make the reservations, you could let them know it is his 35th birthday and they will put a HAPPY 35th BDAY paper inside his menu. It's typed up really nice and would make a nice simple surprise. And, their food is delicious!!!

Get a bunch of family pictures from when he was a kid, and then put them on a SD card, buy one of those LCD picture viewers and pop in the SD card. Tada! A wholesome present, complete with sentimental value and memories.
He'll love it.
