yep i totally agree. When my husband comes home from work and asks me what ive done today i say...oh i took dogs potty..HOW BORING! you can only clean your house so much. I totally understand where your coming from. I would love to get a job but around her the job market isnt great plus were moving in about 4 months ( military) so i hate to try and take on a new job to love it then leave it. So this year i plan to do alot of volunteering at the school to give me something to look forward too. So i totally know what your talking about.

Although the pay stinks, get a job at the school. They need all kinds of people other than teachers. Aides, computer lab helpers, lunch/recess supervisors. You get the days off the kids get and are only working when they're in school. If the money isn't an issue, volunteer at the school. Even if it's once a week it's something.
Another work option is to get a part time job but just be upfront and clear about your availability. Try the grocery store or a restaurant working the lunch hour shift. This can be awkward if you are in a social situation where you are uncomfortable waiting on friends and neighbors though.
You can get really gun-ho about working out and get into a routine where you drop the kids off at school, head to the health club, work out, shower, run by the grocery store to pick up whatever's on sale that week, lunch at home, a little computer time for yahoo answers, get some housework done, start dinner (so you can enjoy time with kids when they're home in the afternoon). Join a bookclub or start one.
Remember a lot of women would love to trade places with you and be able to stay at home and not work.

My youngest is in1st grade this year. I got hired as a EA sub for the school district. I also got hired as a secretary sub and you do not need to pass a typing test for subbing LOL. It is what I did before but it has been 7 years since I typed for a living. Here you have to pass a test to become a sub or take college credits but I passed it without taking the classes it is fairly easy and you can buy a study guide.
They have a computer that calls you and online you can check and you can say no and it does not reflect against you. I don't want to work middle school or high school, so I have only worked a few hours so far but I love it. I do not take anything that will interfere will the schedule my kids are on.
And the schools always need volunteers.
I am hoping to get on as an EA full time in the future which works great for only working when they are in school.
My sister in law sells on eBay and loves it, she shops garage sales and thrift stores and at times makes quite a profit on it.
And another volunteer program would be one for senior citizens, my grandpa died 9 yrs ago and I know there are many other seniors that would just love company even a hour or two a week. Of course I visit my grandma and help out but I just know there are a lot of lonely seniors that do not have family to visit them.

Sometimes Im at home sleeping all day bored out of my mind. what sucks even more i dont watch t.v. or have very trusting friends i want to hang out with. WHOO HOO I'm not alone. This is my first year in 15 years to stay home and I've been battling the same sometimes. I did work out a schedule to clean house, grocery shop, errands and one "off" day. You might think about this.
If you still want a part time job but want to make your own hours, you might consider: Tupperware, Avon, Mary Kay or something along those lines. Just a suggestion.
Also, scrabulous.com is a fun site.

All 4 of mine are at school now, I have stayed home for 12 1/2 years now. It gets loneley and boring sometimes, but you can use the time to catch up with friends, put photos in albums, I sell things on ebay too. Best time to clean out their closets is when they are at school. I am always excited for when they come home too, except whe they start fighting right away! :)

I used to but then I developed interests that didn't involve my children. I do a lot of crafts now and have sold them and I also make our extended family gifts for Christmas. We have a lot of family so it helps out. Everyone loves to get my gifts! I didn't think I was very crafty but I learned how to crochet, do plastic canvas needlepoint and even beading! Now every holiday I get supplies for that, I love it.
I also read a lot. I read articles in the magazine or paper to discuss with my child, I also read books I like too.
I have also volunteered in my son's class and put in over 100 hours in one year. I was also on PTA board so I was VERY busy.
There are a lot of things you can do. If you want to get a job then try to find one that suits you.

I have a part-time job at a portrait studios. It allows me to be the room-mom and be there for my kids on nights and weekends, have a little time for myself, and bring in a little extra money.
I really like it.

Have you given thought to sub teaching? I have a hard time every school year and really enjoy sub teaching. You could look on-line for volunteer help that is needed in your area. I also watch my niece once a week while her mom works. Best of luck to you.
