Don't worry, you won't squash the baby! Just don't push yourself too hard, and don't do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable in that area. If you feel comfortable, baby should feel comfortable!
How about laying back and asking daddy to pamper you and cut the toenails for you? :-)

Your body is wonderfully made and will accommodate for what is going on inside..... The skeletal system is very soft and flexible like a Pretzel and doesn't get hard until a few hours of being born. You are not the first or the last to be pregnant - This is what the female body is made for. Remember the baby has to squeeze it's self through to get out. Right...??? I mean don't go and ride in the Kentucky Derby or climb Mnt Everest - Now that sounds Stupid... JUST RELAX and ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE ** Good Luck **

It won't hurt the baby - it will just "squish" all the air out of you trying to bend over like that.
Babies are VERY well protected inside. Safest place to be. Don't worry about it - if you still are, have a girlfriend or a salon cut your toenails, etc.

It would take a lot of force to squash the baby with a normal amount of fluid around him/her. I know how you feel though, I was always worried about the same thing with my first pregnancy. It will be ok though you can't squash the baby just by doing normal things. My cousin slept on her belly until 36 wks with no problems.

The baby could only be hurt by severe trauma. The baby is protected by amniotic fluid which provided and extra layer of protection. It would only be hurt if something hit the womb hard, cutting toenails will have no effect.

Not unless you are in some sort of accident where you are actually squashed. You definitely won't squash the baby cutting your toenails or leaning against the kitchen counter or anything like that.

No. Our bodies are made to accommodate the baby. Unless you are doing something really out of the ordinary you have nothing to worry about. Your baby is safely protected in his/her own little world. It is probably harder on you lungs to bend over for long lengths of time while pregnant because you are "squishing" on your diaphragm and that makes it difficult to breathe.

Well you cannot because there is sort of a protective shield around the baby which makes it really hard for you to squish the baby

There's no way you can 'squish' your baby by yourself. It can 'be squished' by hard objects though, if you 'impact them' in your 'tummy' area ... so fasten your seat belt properly, and walk carefully and look both ways when you cross the street ... which you should do all the time, really ... just be 'a bit more careful' when you are pregnant, and your baby will be fine.
