My husband has a friend that he hasn't seen in five years. The friend has moved away. My husband used to be neighbors to him while growing up. The friend's father passed away the other day. My husbands family is going to the funeral. I have never met the friend or his father. We have been married for two years and have an 12 month old son. Is it inappropriate for us to go as a family? Should I go? Can we take our son? He is usually on good behavior and of coarse I would leave with him if he wasn't....What do you think?

I am 22 weeks and 4 days pregnant. At 19 weeks i had an u/s to find out the gender but the baby's legs were closed so we couldn't see anything:-( At 22 weeks i had another u/s and the baby's legs were open but not wide open. The sonographer said 70% it looks like a girl but she is not sure and advised that i don't buy everything pink, things can be different at the time of the birth. Now i wanna call my baby with the name i picked for her but my husband thinks it's not a good idea since we are not 100% that we are having a girl. My question is: What are the chances that i will have a boy not a girl since sonographer couldn't be 100% sure? Did anyone have a similar experience? thanks!

I have a friend whom I used to be close with until the last year or so when she started dating a drug dealer. She is now 7 months pregnant, as well as a mother to a 4 year old boy, and lives in a 1 bedroom house with this man and his 'business'. She smokes pot all the time, around her child, as well as being pregnant. I don't know what to do. I would like to say something to put her in a situation to stop, being a mother myself, but I have seen so many other women just get a 'slap on the wrist' when caught in the act. Would it even do any good to mention something to authorities? Who should I tell? Her doctor? Child protective services? No one? Is it even my business? I feel like being a mother myself, SOMEONE should step in for her kids' sake. I feel like my hands are tied. She got caught with pot in her house two years ago also and child protective services drug tested her for about 6 months. She stayed clean for that long, and they left her alone. What should I do?

I have been pregnant for 16 weeks now and my baby hasn't kicked or made any movements. Yesterday my husband was helping me down the stairs and I fell from about the 12th or 13th step, pulling my husband with me and landed on my back with my Husband falling on top of me with the bulk of his weight falling on my stomach. some one please help me I'll be going to my doctor tomorrow but I need to know now. Does any one have experience or has experienced something like this and had their child survive, I've tried to conceive a child too many times for this to happen now!

Okay, well, I know it's kind of stupid to wait till last minute to think of names. It's my first child so I relly do not know what name to give her. I am having a girl. I saw another persons question, and they were thinking of naming their baby after their mother's initials. I thought that was a great idea! But the triple A thing, not soo good. Instead I thought of triple C. Since her last name is going to be Cooper. Soo what about Caroline Camryn Cooper. Too wacky! Nevermind, I just have normal names. I want the names to be tomboyish, so I kinda coppied the other lady. What about Sarah Alexander Cooper? I like the middle name Alexander. Really cool and tomboyish. But since my mom's initials are LLC (Lydia Lynn Devon), I might think of naming my child LLD also. But instead, it will be LLDC. I was thinking of the name Lauryn Lia Danielle Cooper. What do you think? Or else, I like these names below:

It's a new doctors office and struggling, I normally work mondays as I am full time, but the doc told me to take off. He worked alone that day (not one appt). When pay time came along I was told I would not be getting paid for that day since they can't afford it. I didn't know what to say, I was only payed for the hours worked. Should I have been paid that day by law or is it up too the employer? Thanks for the answers it will be a huge help.

(my mother-in-law) while I am at work. However, she doesn't listen to anything I ask her. For example, if my daughter spends the night with her I ask that she let her sleep in the pack-and-play, which doubles as a baby bed, but my mother in law puts her in bed with her. This has happened several times so I don't ask her to keep her over night anymore. SO, tonight my mom in law took her to an indoor auction that is notorious for being full of cigarett smoke!!!! I am so upset and am considering not letting her keep my baby anymore. She has raised 4 kids, but i just don't think it's fair for her to ignore my parenting and do it her way. what do you think... am i overreacting?

When I first saw Smallville I fell in love with the name Lana for a girl.

I like Logan a LOT because of X-Men comicbooks and because when I met a young boy working at Borders he came up to the cafe where I was working and was just the cutest 5 year old ever.

And in Kyle XY I love the name Declan for a boy.

At what age could you tell if your kids were right or left handed? Our son is 2 and I still can't tell. I'm a righty and his dad is a lefty--from what I've read it's thought to be at least partly genetic. I don't care which hand he prefers, but I'm just wondering when it usually becomes apparent.

Any others out there with one left handed and one right handed parent? If so, which are your kids?

with our girls than me, their mom. I'm a stay at home mom of two young girls 3 1/2 and 5. Hubby works out of town 3 or 4 days a week. So, I pretty much run the whole show by myself. When he's home he doesn't do much but try to be attentive with the girls. Sometimes, I get overloaded and short fuse with the girls, nothing abusive or anything. I raised my voice at them and hubby don't like it and sometimes under mine me when I discipline them. Long story short, now hubby is stepping up more and thinks he so awesome at being daddy that he thinks he is better than me. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the fact that he step up, but can't stand him thinking he's better at it. Moms(ladies) vis versa , have you ever encounter this?

i have a 4 month old daughter, she is 23.5 inches tall and 23 pounds. everyone is telling me she is over fed. i was only feeding her 4 ounces every 3 hours during the day and 6-8 hours at night. so about 4 ounces 6 times a day= 24ounces in 1 day. now i have been giving her 5 ounces every 3 hours and 6-8 at night. so 6 feeding of 5 ounces= 30 ounces in 1 day. i heard it wasnt over feedint till 36 ounces. i am 16 years old n very inexperienced with babies, so i dont kno if there is something i am doing wrong. starting recently she has been getting 4 maybe 5 ounces of formula, a little bit of cereal, and some baby fruit... but not a lot and not everyday. i dont want to starve her but i never thought i would be over feeding her. someone please HELP!!!

i really need some real answers. i had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. he said he ejaculated in me. but when i woke up that morning, i was bleeding. it was never really heavy & lasted about 6 days. compared to last month, i was suppose to get my period around the time i started bleeding. could i be pregnant or what?
