I have been pregnant for 16 weeks now and my baby hasn't kicked or made any movements. Yesterday my husband was helping me down the stairs and I fell from about the 12th or 13th step, pulling my husband with me and landed on my back with my Husband falling on top of me with the bulk of his weight falling on my stomach. some one please help me I'll be going to my doctor tomorrow but I need to know now. Does any one have experience or has experienced something like this and had their child survive, I've tried to conceive a child too many times for this to happen now!

Your husband probably pushed you down the stairs on purpose.

If your baby hasn't made any movements as of yet, there is no way of knowing without getting an ultrasound or at least going to the doctor. You normally do not feel the first movement until week 18- 22. I didn't feel my baby move until around week 22 and was freaking out. I also fell last week, landed on my side, went to the doc and everything was fine! They have a lot of cushion in there. Either way, I think that if you are frantic about the situation, just go to the ER. I know that you probably don't want to, but you must be sure that you and the baby are ok. There are many things that can happen, including separation of the placenta, etc...and you shouldn't risk it. Take care and go to the ER.

You are still very early to be feeling your baby kick just yet. I didnt feel mine kick until i was about 24 weeks along! That fall sounds scary and you may want to just head to the ER just in case. However, if you arent showing yet, and I doubt that you are very much, the baby is probably still tucked safely away in your pelvis. itll take a lot to hurt that little guy. none the less, the stress isnt good for your baby and to ease your mind i would highly suggest a trip to the hospital now. Itll make you feel a lot better, as no one on here really knows how serious this may or may not be. Congrats on your pregnancy and good luck

16 weeks is too young to feel the baby move, so I would definately not worry about that at all.

The baby is cushioned with lots of tissue (your ab muscles and uterus) and the amnionic sack and will probably be just fine. I have a couple friends who had pretty bad falls during pregnancies, and I got in a car accident where the seatbelt across my abs left a bad bruise. All our babies were okay. Try not to worry, and your Dr. will check you out tomorrow.

O hun... I know how scared you are right now.. I was there last year when I was pregnant... I did not feel any real movement until 21 weeks along... And I had tryed for 2 1/2 years before I got pregnant!!! I fell once at about 25 weeks, and I was soooooo worried!!! Well heck I was worried my whole pregnancy.. LOL I just wanted to let you know that if there was somethign wrong your body would tell you... Just try to relax... Yes, I know easer said than done... But your baby needs you to be calm, and relaxed.... Something that will ease your mind is that your baby is just now getting out from under your pelvis... Your baby is still protected by your pelvis, so yall should be fine... Just take it easy, and talk to your OBGYN tomorrow.... I will be praying 4 u!!!

my mom when she was pregnant with my brother fell down a flight of stairs onto her stomach and my brother turned out fine. the baby is very well padded in your tummy. in all that fluid. the doctor told us that it would take an awful lot to harm a fetus. that was 25 years ago. i will tell you though what i used to do while i was pregnant. i lifted the front end of a big ford mercury car off my husband when i was pregnant with our daughter. and i didn't feel her move for awhile. my mothers instinct told me she was just fine. i know it sounds silly but you can take your middle finger and press it lightly on your tummy where you think the baby is and you will be able to feel the babies heart beat i did this with all 3 of mine. at 16 weeks the baby will move around like crazy but if you feel around on your tummy only with your middle finger lightly pressed on your tummy you will find the babies heart beat and feel yours in the background light and faint. but the babies you will feel it tap tap against your finger. you can do this while sitting up straight or laying on your back. my husband also used to put his finger on their heartbeat and feel it as well. also he would lay his head on my tummy and hear their heartbeat. good luck and best wishes.

1] if you don't have any obvious bruises or injuries the baby is probably fine. They are well protected in there.
2] Most first babies movements are felt approximately 20 weeks - and it doesn't feel like a movement at first, it feels like a butterfly flew past one of your organs. [ But it will feel like kicks, swings, somersaults, etc., soon enough! ]
3] relax, drink some decaf or chamomile or peppermint tea - take a warm relaxing bath, and rest.

Calm down. Be strong for your baby. The uterus is a strong protective muscle and if you are fine, from the fall...chances are the baby is fine too. If you just can't relax until tomorrow...call your Dr and go to the ER for verification. Good luck to you and your baby.

There is no way to know until you go to the doctor but remember there is a lot of padding around that baby. Your uterus and the amniotic fluid are protecting that kid. I fell down a flight of stairs when I was eight months pregnant and my baby was fine. Good luck.

First I hope everything is ok. I do know of a women who went sky diving and jumped out. Her parachute didn't open and fell. She lived and she was a couple of months pregnant. The baby is fine. Do remember all people are different and all pregnancies are different. I really hope yours is okay.
