I often hear Michelle and Jim-Bob (?) Duggar described as "perfect parents" and to be honest I just find them a little odd. Sure the children are good-mannered, healthy, educated and generally well looked after and the Duggars have no financial issues, but surely raising your children in this sort of bubble is going to have disastrous consequences when the children are finally released into the real world? It seems in a way quite selfish to have so many children. I find it interesting aswell that they chose to homeschool all their children, knowing deep down that every one of them would have rebelled agaisnt the careful system they have created at some point had they been mainstreamed and allowed to mix with other children. In my opinion the Duggar children haven't been given the freedom to discover who they are, what interests them, what they believe in and explore the world around them, as they have to keep to a strict timetable created by their parents. Its almost like a cult.

I don't mean bottle, clothes, pram, pacifiers, cots, etc. I mean those little things that made your life with a newborn or multiple newborns easier!!

Mine were:
NO. 1 - My steel craft projector (sang lullabies and made pictures on the roof!)

NO. 2 – My baby monitor (I have a picture monitor where I can see them when they sleep)

No 3 – My boy’s gym. One sat under it while the other was being feed, changed, etc

By the way to all my online friends – I found out this morning that I am expecting baby number 3. That is if they aren’t twins! AGAIN! And those of you who are TTC - GOODLUCK!

with your children. When we buy them toys and games they only play with them for a very short time, then they get forgotton. We don't have much money so I buy some expensive stuff from car boots. I bought an eye toy for under 10 pounds last week, and already it's been put away after the novelty wore off. I don't want this to sound bad and I don't spoil my kids. I just need advice from other mums who have gone through this. My kids are 9 and 11. Thnx.

What u guys do to keep them entertained in the home.
My 11 month old is whining all the time for me to sit with her or pick her up. Only thing she likes is to watch baby tv. I knw its not good for her, but i get soooooooooo tired that i sometimes turn tv on for her to watch.

I do play with her and all but she has started to get bored in like 5-10 mins.

I'm soooooooo agitated right now.

my dad and uncle loved to play with toy guns and swords made of sticks as kids. they are wonderfully rounded people and great parents. My son and his little friends (he is 7) made a catapult, they were playing goodies and baddies. not bothering anyone, just being a bit loud. they were in and out of our garden and also their friends, making war cries and such like. most of the nieghbours were out, saying how nice it is to see the kids playing. but 2 neighbours said they would call the police, and our kids should have asbo's. the kids are polite, respectful and always helping the neighbours, but 1 day they decide to play a game, that kids have played for generations and people react like that. why??
if the kids were running riot and causing probs i could understand, they were just being kids. we were also supervising their play.

My husband and i are expecting in January , we don't know the sex of our child yet . So we have narrowed down a list of both girl and boy names . Can you please vote :-)

And feel free to comment back here on which ones you liked / disliked ...

We have our heart set on the girls names , we don't need anymore ideas for the girls. Suggestions for boys names are welcomed though ..

thanks

Forgive my bluntness, but I recall from an old medical textbook that 'aggressive cunnilingus' might actually force air into the strained vessels on the inside of a woman's vaginal canal, which in turn could cause an embolism. Is this actually a credible risk, or is it just alarmism that has been abandoned over the years?

that after you have sex and your trying to get pregnant you should not get up right away? Like I got up about 5 mins later? Dose that mean I lost my chances in getting pregnant?

That i had an abortion on saturday. I'm only 15 and i know she'll be disappointed but people said i should tell her because if she finds out from somewhere else then she might got more angry and upset that i went through it without her. So far i'm doing my best to cover it all up and she hasn't noticed anything she just thinks i'm on my period. I don't think i want to tell her because i know she'll judge me and hate my boyfriend plus the possibility she tells my dad is too risky and my dad is scary when he's angry. I just wanted to know other people's opinions on this? Thanks in advance for your answers.

I have a 15 year old daughter in 10th grade. When she was 13 she had cut herself a couple of times, and we never knew the reason behind it. A couple months later she admitted to wanting attention from everyone who would give it to her, and she thought some girls who cut themselves at her school were cool, and said that she would never do it again. She never did do it again either. After seeing a therapist for about a year, she completely changed. She is more loving, caring, optimistic, and open eyed about everything. Last night she was with her boyfriend and i overheard them talking. She was sitting on the floor with her legs stretched out asking him to break her leg. Of course, he refused. She just kept asking and pulled the whole "come on, if you loved me you would do it" thing. What does this mean, and what should be done about it?

did you sleep like crazy?? I went to bed last night at 9:30 and slept straight until 7;30. Then I got up for about a half hour because I was hungry but by ten min after eight I was about to pass out so I went back to bed and slept until noon. And the only reason I woke up then was because my honey came home for lunch. I stayed up just long enough to watch a movie and by two/two thirty I was passed back out until 5:15. It's now 10:00 (I live in Alaska) and here I am yawning already about to head to bed. I was just curious if anyone else slept like this when they were pregnant. I am 21 weeks along. Thanks!
