It sounds like an ear infection. I think you should call his pediatrician, and maybe take him in to see him.
Good luck. Ear infections are really painful...

If he has an ear infection, he probably has a temperature. It may be that it's just annoying to have his ear touched.
Take him to the doctor, but in the meantime try massaging his tummy. My babies love the sound of the vaccuum cleaner and would quiet when they heard it.
Different formula may help also. Enfamil Lipil Nutramigen might help, as well as soy or lactose-free stuff.
Could he have been crying because he was also hungry? Babies can be confusing. My son would refuse to eat, then scream for a bottle not 2 minutes later.
Your cousin will grow out of this stage in a couple more months. Just hang in there!

Crying more when you touch his ear could just be his way of saying stop touching my ear it's annoying, or it could be a ear infection. Call the doctor first and see what he/she wants to do, they may have you try some things at home, and have you bring him in for a closer look.

take him back to the doctor, it still might be gas, did you try sitting the baby up and burping? my angel loves that, she's uber-gasy. otherwise it sounds like it may be an ear infection. keep an eye on his temperature too, can't be too careful with an infection in an infant.
