My son will be one year on friday and I am starting to worry about him not having any interest in feeding himself. He is a twin and his sister has been picking up foods and feeding herself for about 2 months now. I have been working with him on picking up the food, and placing it in his mouth, but he still doesnt seem to get it. He wants me to feed him, and i have tried just about all his favorite foods to help him get interested. Is this normal, and if anyone else has had the same problem, what did you try to initiate self feeding??

We are starting our third week of school today and my eight year old daughter is very teary before she gets on the bus and when she's at school. Her new teacher is fantastic(the one she really wanted!)90% of the class is the same as last year, no problems with peers, school work(at the top of her class) or here at home. All is well on all fronts. I am a stay at home Mom and have been since she was born.. She attended preschool for 2 years prior to Kindergarten with no separation anxiety at all. Until now. Any thoughts and or advice would be great, we're kind of at a loss on this one!!! Thank you.

I tried rice cereal at first, but it seems to make my baby constipated... my baby is five and a half months and has been breastfed only. I was going to wait till six months to start solids but he has shown a real interest in our food and when I fed him some rice cereal to see how he does, he loved it. He wanted more and more but I only gave him a teaspoon full because that's what I have read you should start them with. After only two night-time feedings of one teaspoon full rice cereal followed by breastmilk, my baby stopped pooing for a week!!! I stopped the rice cereal after the two feedings because he didn't go and I thought that was strange. We had to give him a glycerine suppository which worked. He went the day we gave it him and the next day and now it's been five days again since he has had a bowel movement and I am becoming concerned again. I really would like to be able to start the solids because my breastmilk is very low at night and he still seems very hungry.

when you prop their bottles instead of holding them while they eat?

I have never, even after three kids, ever propped a bottle. My neighbors have been propping the bottle for their daughter since she was about 2 months old. I went over there last night and they had her lying on a blanket on the floor with a bottle propped up with a blanket under her chin, shes 4 months old now. I can't imagine not holding my baby and looking into his eyes while he eats. She said she props it because that is her time to do things around the house, I think that the bonding time while feeding your baby is much more important then getting a few things picked up while they are eating.

Do you prop a bottle or not, why or why not?

My period was 2-3 weeks late and when I finally got it, it lasted longer than usual. The blood also went from slightly darker than normal to an almost brown. I dont normally have cramps, and I did this time for about a week prior to getting it. They were pretty bad. Is it possible that I miscarried?

I still have no AF!! but negative HPT this morning. I am 11 dpo and cycle day 30 today. I have never been past day 30 or 11 dpo so I would assume if I get no AF today that I am pregnant. Do you think it is just too early to test? When should I call my doctor? My temp is still way above my coverline. I still am having some symptoms like last week and my face looks terrible and feel like I am getting a UTI. My husband also pointed out the last 2 nights I have been drooling, gross I know. He asked if that was a pregnancy symptom because I have never done that before. I read some peoples answers on here and some said they started drooling when pregnant. Would that effect a hpt? What are some things I can take for a UTI if I am pregnant? Heres my chart
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/honeyb1
I also tested BFN last night too. Should I test every morning or wait a few? Thanks for the prayers.

hi there!!
i am currently 22 weeks pregnant with my first baby!! i had my 20 week ultrasound a couple weeks ago, and it's a boy!! YAY!! anyway.. When i went to the doc friday, i told her that all my kicks are really low in my uterus.. she reviewed all the info from my ultrasound, and said that everything looks perfect, the only thing is that he is breech! So, is that why all my kicks are so low? Will he turn? Or is this where i will feel all the kicks throughout the pregnancy?? thanks!

I don't think the birth control is effective yet and I know having semen in you right before your period is bad. I should have started yesterday but I could be late as usual. I'm just really paranoid.

My daughters top front teeth are decaying, she's 2 years old, and I know its from her drinking too much apple juice. I took her to her doctor, and he said she can't go see a dentist until she is 3, and he prescribe her some soduim floride, but It seems like it is making it worst. I live in Delaware in the wilmington area, does anyone know of any pediatric dentist that will see her now at her age.? And has anyone ever experience this and what needed to be done, to make your teeth close to normal?

I hear this a lot. If you are agree with this statement, would you explain to me why you believe that, including examples? I would like to better understand your point of view and why you think that way. It is appreciated.

Incidentally, I am a home birth mother, seeking to understand, not inflame. Thankyou.
