it helps to be wellorginised before the baby comes, make sure you have the clothes washed, the diapers and wipes stocked up, and start filling the freezer with simple meals. Do you have anyone, a friend or relitive, who can give you help an hour a day, just do you can nap or get laundry done? Does daddy have some time off to use? The first 2 weeks are the toughest, but you can do it!!!
#1 best advice, sleep when the baby sleeps!! You can get chores done later, but you need sleep to take care of your baby and to heal. Good luck!

Aww bless.
Congrats and all!!!
The most basic advise I can give you it to not set yourself any goals...not worrying about the washing, the cooking, the cleaning, or what anyone else is thinking.
Between the 3 of you, just spend time getting to know each other and a routine will form.
It can be a bit of a stressful time so allow each other time out without the baby if possible (doesn't have to be together or for long) and the most important thing for you to do is try and get as much rest as possible.
Don't use the time when baby is asleep to 'catch up' with daily household stuff...get your head down too.
Its only a short time!!!

The best advice I can give you is to breast feed. This will give you more freedom for sleep, which you will need plenty of, and it will be good for the baby. If you are planning to return to work full-time, it may not be manageable, however if you will have even six weeks at home with your newborn, it will help tremendously money-wise and healthwise to nurse versus getting up to make bottles and buying formula. You can contact La Leche League in your area; they are the experts and will give you the support you need. Also, they are a great resource for other baby issues, as their membership is mainly for nursing moms, so you will be in good company.

don't try to be supermom. if you don't have much help when you come home from the hospital, just focus on the baby, a slep when it sleeps. laundry and other household things can waite. don't stress to much about the house not being in tip top shape.
i think that's the best tip to give you.
