If your close friend asked you to babysit her children how much would you charge? Flat fee or hourly per child? The situation is that her husband is in the military and is gone for a month. She goes to school on the weekend and needs a babysitter for Friday night 6-9:30, Saturday from 9-5 and Sunday afternoon from 1-4. How much would you charge? These are kids that are well behaved and whom you like and their house is next door to yours.

By the way, you have no children yourself and have no plans for the weekend except to do homework which you can do at her house while you babysit.

well, since it is a close friend i wouldnt charge anything. if you did i wouldnt ask an hourly rate. maybe $20 for the wknd, just enough to go and get lunch for the kids or take them for ice cream.

At her house? that might get old. the weekend comes around fast & you're cutting yourself off from doing anything without children (?how many kids) & you don't have any yourself to know the more constant responsibility.

If you had a child that would benefit from her kids company I could see 'watching' them for free or if you rely on her for favors. it's just a month. I'd go for broke though were I you, cause she can't really expect you to 'watch' them; she's HOPING. $10 an hour.

If it's a close friend I may barter for chores or something to help out. Tough situation though. Did your friend discuss a financial arrangement with you? Perhaps a combination of $100 for the weekend plus some housecleaning.

I wouldn't charge or I'd ask her what she would like to pay. If you like the children and they are well behaved then it shouldn't be a problem to do it for free or for cheap. It would help her out so much!

would depend on how many children, and there ages! id say if its a friend, and they dont give you much of a problem. $40.00 for the weekend, mainly cuz its the weekend, and most people dont like to work! lol but i think thats decent. specially it being at her house, & you have no plans!! good luck! :)
