Hello, I was wondering, how long can you breastfeed a baby up until? I'm 39 weeks pregnant and plan on breastfeeding for as long as I can. So I'd like to hear answers from experienced people on this subject. Did you have complications that made you stop? Did the baby start refusing the breast? Did he or she keep biting you and that's why you stopped? ect, ect? I'm a very curious Mommy to be.

Thank you in advance:)

I am 7 months pregnant and the only preg sign I have had during my whole pregnancy is being tired- tired from the time I wake up til I go to sleep- I'm still working and can barely function because I'm always yawning and ready for a nap- no matter what time I go to sleep I wake up tired. I still have at least 1 month and two weeks before I go on maternity leave.

Any advice on how to make it thru the day feeling like this.....

Yesterday i went in for my 3D sonogram, which by the way was really a neat experience, we were doing the sono, and we couldnt get a really good picture of her face. The lady said it was because she has her head down really far into my pelvis. Im only 31 weeks, ill be 32 on monday. She was awake and movin a little, but not too much. Is that normal for her to be really far down already since im only 31 weeks?? Please any info will help! Thanks!

Does this name sound to.. "N-y". The middle name has to stay, it's after my husband's sister who recently passed away, and I like the name Lillian.. but i don't know if it sounds weird or not.

So, finally, at the age of 41 she's expecting a baby! Do you think she was arificially inseminated? A doctor just told me that when a woman over 40 gets pregnant, it's usually with someone else's eggs! Has she been trying this long to get pregnant?

My 4 month old son is breastfeed, but I want to stop when he is six months. So far we have tried him on a few different formulas. The regular stuff makes him vomit (not spit up, but vomit), and the soy and nutriginamen makes him gag and he wont even drink it. I know breastmilk is best for the first year, but I really dont want to go much more than six months, I hope I'm not being selfish. Any way I would like some advice on what kind of formulas might work or how to get him to try some

I am 39 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Last night I felt a slow trickle of fluid, so I went in to the doctor to see if my waters broke, they kept me there all night and said they did a little bit, but now they have sealed off. I have been nautious the last 4 days, and now I just got diarrhea. When I had a pelvic exam, my doc said she could feel the babys head extremely low. I am only dialated 11/2 cm, but have had awful Braxton Hicks, and this morning I had regular contractions for an hour. I have had a constant back ache and cramping though for about 2 days. Am I going into labor soon? How soon?

I was wondering if any of you girls ever had, or ever heard of anyone else getting an infection after a miscarriage for not getting a D&C. Does an infection stop you from getting pregnant again?

My mother in law thinks that now that my baby is here she's gonna get to keep her over night (My baby was just born August 22,07) I dont trust her at all with my baby even though she has another grandaughter thats older, but its different because thats her grandaughter through her daughter, not her son. Anyway I want to make it clear to her that she will only see the baby when we go over to her house or if she comes over to ours, but as far as her babysiting or keeping the baby overnight, there is not a chance. How can I tell her this and make it very clear to her where I dont have to keep repeating myself to her, I want her to know thats why Im there for to babysit and care for my baby.

A boy in my oldest son's class got sick at school. Around 10am, the 14 y/o started feeling ill and told the teacher. She told him to put his head down on his desk. She finally allowed him to use the restroom, where he repeatedly threw up. He returned to class and told her, but she kept him in class. Finally, 3 HOURS LATER he left for the bathroom and called his mom on his cell. When his mom got to the school, they called the classroom and asked for him. The teacher said he had been out of the room for TWENTY FIVE MINUTES and that she didn't know where he was. The office aid searched 3 bathrooms and in the last one found him lying on the floor covered in his own vomit, too sick to get up or get help. The aid and his mom had to carry him out. No one seemed to know WHY his mom hadn't been contacted earlier or why no one had searched for him when he was gone so long. The school admitted that 17 kids in the class were out with flu-like symptoms. Isn't that neglect?

Or do they just *say* they do because it's the *right* thing to say? I took my daughter for her 4 month well-baby appt this morning and they had all the parents sit in a class on development at 4 months. They gave the obligatory 90-second "breast is best" speech, then continued on with "bottle this, bottle that" the rest of the time. When the (male) nurse was getting a history on my baby, he INSISTED on me giving him a number of ounces that she consumes a day. I finally told him to make something up because I don't know, and he got rude. They have signs up about breastfeeding everywhere, but they don't seem to support it in their actions. Is this common? I can't really change doctors because we use military healthcare, I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who has noticed this...
