These questions are always a source of hot debate. I personally don't agree with putting cereal in a bottle and think it is not only unnecessary, but potentially dangerous. Lots of people do it, though. I would supplement with formula before I jumped to adding cereal to her bottles.
At four months, she likely will be ready to start solids (not in a bottle), but there are certain physical things the pediatrician looks for (losing the tongue thrust reflex and the ability to sit up).
HOWEVER, the bottom line is that you should not change your baby's diet without consulting your pediatrician.

Actually, baby cereal breaks down really fast in breastmilk.
If you feel the need to add it, make sure it is done right before the bottle is given.

I wouldn't put it in there bottle I have read that it can cause over eating. I started my girls on cereal at 4 months and have nevr put it in the bottle. let her drink a bottle and then feed her some cereal she will let you know when she doesn't want any more. Best wish

I don't recommend to do that just yet. Wait until 5 months as that is the time the intestines change. You might want to mix in some formula with your breastmilk at night and see how she does. Talk to your Doctor and see what they recommend!
Don't give her cereal! It will help you and hurt her!!

Not in the bottle. EVER. There's a huge risk of choking from cereal in the bottle.
You ALWAYS give solids by spoon.

Although ultimately the decision is yours, I think you should go see a health nurse before introducing any solid. I have heard of people doing this with no ill effect most of the time but it can cause problems with the gut, allergies and other problems. I would suggest introducing formula to top your baby up until she is 6months but again I think the best advice will come from the health nurse in regaurd to finding out the full extent of complications. I started feeding my son at around 4months because I just couldn't wait. He is now 16months old and has developed an allergy to dairy. If you choose to introduce formula, you might find it easier to mix half breast milk and half formula til baby gets used to it as my son when starting formula at around 6months fully protested and screamed, cried and held his breath just to not drink it, he now really enjoys it ( we have him on soy formula) You are not a failure if you give your child formula, you are simply giving them the healthiest substitute you can and doing the best for them, a stressed mum does not produce a relxed baby

The answer is YES IT'S OKAY! Lot's of people and dr's will tell you not to however it isn't harmful to the baby.. it just doesn't do them any good! (As in it doesn't have any nutritional value!) If it works... go for it!
