It was 20^C today & I walked past a car at the post office and noticed two young children in there (one a baby and the other about 2ish). I just assumed their mother/father was posting a letter. I had lunch across the road, which roughly took about 45 minutes. I left and walked back across the street. The children were still there!
I banged on the window and tried to get their attention, both were dopey and relucant to move. I ran into the post office and got help. Couldn't find the parents, so i smashed the small window in the drivers window and got the kids out.
Both these babies where extremely dehydrated, and sick. They were taken to the hospital, and the police arrived soon after.
The mother a middle aged woman then decided to rock up. Off her head on christ nows what! Then tried to assult me for breaking her window!! so i smacked her around the ear hole and told her if i hadn't have done i they could have died!

I was 16 when I had my daughter and didn't produce enough breast milk to feed her so I bottle fed her and didn't think anymore of it.I'm now 25 and hopefully pregnant with our second child(hubby works away waiting for him to come home before I do a pregnancy test to be sure) is it possible this time I'll be able to breastfeed ?

Thanx for taking the time first of all..

My wonderful son 4 1/2 months old has been putting hands in mouth + drooling lots since about 3 months old and now behavior is getting sort of "agressive" he oes crazy sometimes when putting boths hands in mouth trying to grab my hand and put in mouth biting really hard while getting very frustrated and angry. It seems like it comes and goes..Last checkup+vaccination (his 3 rd) last week nurse said no signs of teething when I asked her. I've heard this can go on for a while before you see signs of teething but I just wanted to ask and see about other ppls experiances and if this agressive behaviour with the biting is normal when not seeing any teeth coming at all?

I have often heard Conservative types preaching about how some poor child has been "saved" from a life of "poverty" with a penniless single mother and adopted by a wonderful middle class couple who can provide them with all they want.

Yet here we have two ostensibly "perfect" parents - middle class doctors - doping up their children and leaving them alone while they go out with their friends!!!

I know penniless single mothers on housing estates who would never, ever do that!

So why do we assume that just because someone is rich and successful they will be a better parent than someone who is poor and disadvantaged?

My cousin and his wife are two wealthy successful career people and their 18 month old son has all the expensive toys etc you could want. Yet he spends up to 10 hours per day *every day* in daycare while his parents pursue their careers. to me thats not good parenting. I don't understand why they even had a child because they never see him!!!

my baby is 7 months old and won't go to sleep at night when i try to put her in her crib drowsy-awake, because so far i have always nursed or rocked her to sleep(same for naps).in the last month she started to wake up 2-3 times a night.sometimes i can rock her back to sleep other times i have to nurse her.she used to sleep through (8pm-8am) from when she was 4.5 months until 6 months of age.
it tried the ferber method a couple times but after 45 minutes i gave in.it didn't seem to ever end!and she screamed hysterically(already after a couple minutes).she also never settled when i went in to comfort her(seemed to be even worse when i came) .she kept on rolling and turning around. if i want to try it again,do i start with naps or nigh time?or both?how much crying is too long/much?is there a limit?do i just put her to sleep that way but pick her up in the middle of the night?do i slowly approach it or do i let her cio every time she wakes?

My son will be turning 9 friday and everything that can go wrong for me is financially has happened this week. I just broke even with my check to pay the rent on time this month with 24 dollars left over, every bill is due with a disconnect notice, and my car broke down this morning. I planned to spend the day with him on his b-day but the boss just made a mandatory class attendance at work for all day friday and the weekend (which I requested off )so I cannot spend any time with him either on his b-day weekend he will have to hang out with his sitter he dislikes. As a single parent of three I break my neck every year but it has finally caught up to me this year. How can I tell him I cannot afford to do anything this year and make him understand that I probley won't be able to at all do anything. I know this will be hard for him b/c teachers will ask what he recieved for his b-day or what he did how can I make him understand I just cannot do anything about it or when I can.

For those who dont believe that please carry on the hunt...beware of Irishmen with a bit of left over tarmac and becareful of the guy doing a survey on how many free windows you would have if they were being given away.

How could two doctors overdose a child on sedatives and how come she died so quickly? They must have had plenty of opportunity to revive her with help... I believe they killed her..just dont know how it happened

I'm expecing my first child in 6months time. My partner & I have picked out a girl's name (Lily) but we can't seem to agree on a boy's name. If it is a boy it will have the middle name Anthony due to tradition. I also prefer names that aren't too common as in "John, Bob, etc..." but not too unusual.

I been seeing this girl for the last month and a half. last night I hit the jackpot with her more then once. She's a sweat girl however I DONT WANT to hurt her feelings I want to keep her on the sidelines for a while but I dont want to be to obvious doing it. I also dont want her to know what Im trying to do either. When I was first seeing her I knew 2 month earlier she had a bad break up with her boyfriend I dont want to dump her totally I dont want to screw with her head either. Twice I have been pregnant and when I went in for an ultrasound (still in my 1st trimester) I was carrying a baby with no heartbeat. Since I'm pregnant again, I was just wondering how long is the longest amount of time before your body recognizes the baby is dead?
